Keepthetemperaturewithinrangeofuseandstorage.Excessivetemperatureandhumiditycouldcausepolarizationdegredation,polarizerpeelofforbubble.

DonotcontacttheexposedpolarizerswithanythingharderthananHBpencillead.Tocleandustoffthedisysurface,wipegentlywithcotton,chamoisorothersoftmaterialsoakedinpetroleumbenzin.

Wipeoffsalivaorwaterdropsimmediay.Contactwithwateroveralongperiodoftimemaycausepolarizerdeformationorcolorfading,whileanactiveLCDwithwatercondensationonitssurfacewillcausecorrosionofITOelectrodes.

Glasscanbeeasilychippedorcrackedfromroughhandling,especiallyatcornersandedges.

LCMareassembledandadjustedwithahighdegreeofprecision.Avoidexcessiveshocksanddonotmakeanyaltionsormodifications.Thefollowingshouldbenoted.

Donottamperinanywaywiththetabsonthemetalframe.

DonotmodifythePCBbydrillingextraholes,changingitsoutline,movingitscomponentsormodifyingitspattern.

Donottouchtheelastomerconnector,especiallyinsertanbacklightpanel(forexample,EL).

WhenmountingaLCMmakesurethatthePCBisnotunderanystresssuchasbendingortwisting.Elastomercontactsareverydelicateandmissingpixelscouldresultfromslightdislocationofanyoftheelements.

Avoidpressingonthemetalbezel,otherwisetheelastomerconnectorcouldbedeformedandlosecontact,resultinginmissingpixels.

2.2.StaticElectricity

LCMcontainsCMOSLSI’sandthesameprecautionforsuchdevicesshouldapply,namely

Theoperatorshouldbegroundedwheneverhe/shecomesintocontactwiththemodule.NevertouchanyoftheconductivepartssuchastheLSIpads,thecopperleadsonthePCBandtheinterfaceterminalswithanypartsofthehumanbody.

Themodulesshouldbekeptinantistaticbagsorothercontainersresistanttostaticforstorage.

Onlyproperlygroundedsolderingironsshouldbeused.

Ifanelectricscrewdriverisused,itshouldbewellgroundedandshieldedfromcommutatorsparks.

(5)Thenormalstaticpreventionmeasuresshouldbeobservedforworkclothesandworkingbenches;forthelatterconductive(rubber)matis mended.
