概念
動詞-ing形式是動詞的一種非謂語形式,包括現(xiàn)在分詞和動名詞兩種。
一.動詞-ing形式的時態(tài)和語態(tài)
______________(wait)forhisgirlfriend,hewalkedaroundinamysteriousway.
______________(wait)forhisgirlfriendforseveralhours,hefinishedafantastichandicraft.

二、動詞-ing形式作主語
動詞-ing形式直接作主語表示抽象的概念,
通常直接置于句首,謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式。
e.g.
Readingaloudisagoodwayinlearningalanguage.
朗讀是學(xué)習(xí)語言的一個好辦法。
Gettingupearlyisagoodhabit.
早起是一種好習(xí)慣。
2.置于句末,用it作形式主語,多見于下面幾個句型:
Itisworthdoing...做是值得的
It+be+awasteoftimedoing..做是浪費時間的
Itis/wasnogood/usedoing...做是沒有用的
e.g.
Itisawasteoftimetalkingaboutsuchuselessthings.
談?wù)撨@些沒用的事情是在浪費時間。
Itisnousecryingoverspiltmilk.
覆水難收。

三、動詞-ing形式作賓語的用法
1.有些動詞和動詞短語后常用動詞-ing形式作賓語。如:
admit,appreciate,avoid,stand(忍受),miss,consider,delay,dislike,enjoy,imagine,escape,excuse,suggest,feellike,finish,forgive,mention,mind,practise,getdownto,giveup,devote...to,insiston,keep(on),lookforwardto,payattentionto,putoff,stickto,beaccustomed/usedto(習(xí)慣于)…
2.在allow,advise,forbid,permit后直接跟動詞-ing形式作賓語,如果有名詞或代詞作賓語,則構(gòu)成
allow/advise/forbid/permit+
e.g.
Theyadvisesolvingtheprobleminthisway.
他們建議用這種方法解決這個問題。
Wedon’tallowanybodytosmokehere.
我們不允許任何人在這兒吸煙。

3.動詞need,require,want意為“需要”時,后跟動詞-ing形式的主動式或不定式的被動式作賓語,意義沒有區(qū)別。
need/require/wantdoing=need/require/wanttobedone.
e.g.
Thewindowneeds/requires/wantscleaning/tobecleaned.
窗戶需要擦了。
4.在begin,start,continue,intend后用動詞-ing形式和用不定式作賓語均可,意義沒有多大區(qū)別。
begin/start/continue/intendtodo/doing.
5.有些動詞,后接動詞-ing形式作賓語,與用動詞不定式作賓語意義大相徑庭。
meantodosth.打算/意欲做
meandoingsth.意味著
forgettodosth.忘記去做
forgetdoingsth.忘記曾經(jīng)做過
goontodosth.完成某事后繼續(xù)做另一件事
goondoingsth.繼續(xù)做原來的事
四、動詞-ing形式的否定形式
動詞-ing形式的否定形式通常是在其前加not,帶有邏輯主語時not應(yīng)放在邏輯主語和動詞-ing形式之間。
e.g.
Youhavenoexcusefornotgoing.
你沒有理由不去。
Hewaspunishedfornothavingdonehishomework.
他因未完成作業(yè)而受到懲罰。
