?EmployeesLIKEtheOffice:Theofficespacehasbeenadivisivetopicbutwefoundwhilesomeemployeesprefertoworkfromhome,themajorityofthosewesurveyedenjoytheirtimespentintheoffice.

?PerksWillWorkbutTheyAren’tEverything:Freelunches,parkingandcommutingstipendsincentivizeworkerstogointotheofficebutsodootherintangiblethings–likeone-on-one

opportunitieswithexecutives,teambrainstormsandthechancetosocializewithcoworkers.

?RemoteWorkPayCutsMayCostYou:While58%saidthey’dgointotheofficemorefrequentlytoavoidapaycut,morethan25%saidthey’dquicklylookforanotherjob.

Recently,we’veseencompaniestrytoincentivizepeoplebackintotheofficeby

offeringhighersalariesfornon-remoteworkers.Ofthe380employeeswepolled,58%

saidthey’dgointotheofficemorefrequentlytoavoidasalaryreduction,whilejust

overaquarter(25%)saidthey’dquicklylookforanotherjob.

Thissometimesgetslostinthelargerofficedebate,butthefactremainsthatmost

employees(48%)enjoytheirtimeintheoffice.Hybridworkispopularbecausepeople

wantthebestofbothworlds-theflexibilitytoworkremotelywhenneededandthe

optiontoconnectwiththeirteamswhentheywant.

Noteveryonesharesthesesentiments.Ourresearchfoundnearlyathird(28%)would

prefertoworkfromhome.Still,giventhevariousfactorsthatcouldinfluencethis

response–suchaschildandfamilycareobligationsandlongcommutes–theoffice

reallyshouldn’ttakeitpersonally.

Whenweaskedwhethertheseemployeesfelttheircompanydidagoodjob

incentivizingthemintotheoffice,theresultsweresplit.Only25%saidtheircompanydidthis“exceptionallywell”andnearly30%gavetheiremployersafailinggrade,with

36%somewhereinthemiddle.
