詞句精講精練

詞匯精講

1.join

join是動詞,意為“參加,加入”。賓語有以下幾種形式:

(l)join+表示團體或組織的名詞,join意為“加入(某團體),成為……(成員)

例如:YaoMingjoinedtheNBA.姚明加入了NBA。

(2)join+指人的名詞或代詞,join意為“加入……之中”。例如:

Willyoujoinusforlunch?和我們一起吃午飯好嗎?

(3)join+in+活動類名詞,joinin意為“參加(活動)?!崩纾?/p>

Canyoujoininthegame?你能參加這個游戲嗎?

2.until

until意為“直到……”,有下列用法:

(1)作介詞,后接時間名詞,在句中作時間狀語。例如:

Shewaitedthereuntil9o?clock.她在那一直等到9點鐘。

(2)作連詞,后接從句,引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句。例如:

Wewaiteduntiltherainstopped.我們等到雨停了。

【拓展】

(1)until用在肯定句中,多與持續(xù)性的動詞連用。如stand/wait/stay等,表示主句動作的

終止時間。例如:

Iwillwaithereuntilyoucomeback.

我會在這里等到你回來。

(2)until可用于否定句中,即not…until…意為"直至IJ……才……”,常與非延續(xù)性動詞連

用。如open/start/leave/arrive等,強調(diào)主句動作開始的時間。例如:

Thechilddidn'tgotobeduntilhisfathercameback.

直到父親回來,那個孩子才睡覺。

3.thousand

(1)thousand是數(shù)詞,意為“千”,當其前面有具體數(shù)字時,用“數(shù)字+thousand+復(fù)數(shù)名詞”。

類似用法的還有hundred,million等。例如:

Uptofivemillionpeopleayearvisitthecounty.

每年參觀這個國家的人多達500萬。

(2)當thousand前面無具體數(shù)字時,常用thousandsof…表示概數(shù)。例如:

Therearethousandsofpeopleinthepark.

公園里有數(shù)千人。

4.manage

manage作動詞,意為“管理;設(shè)法對付"。managetodosth.意為“設(shè)法做到某事”。例如:

Hemanagedthecompanywhenhisfatherwasaway.

他父親離開的時候,由他管理公司。

Wemanagedtosavethepeopleinthevillage.

我們設(shè)法救了那個村莊的人。

【拓展】

辨析:trytodosth.與managetodosth.

(1)trytodosth.意為“盡力做某事”,但是不一定做成。例如:

Hetriedtogettheworkdonewithlittlehelp.

他盡量在沒有什么幫助的情況下完成工作。

(2)managetodosth.則表示“設(shè)法做某事而且成功了”。例如:

Hemanagedtopasstheexamination.=Hesucceededinpassingtheexamination.

他成功地通過了考試。

5.stay

(1)stay作系動詞,后跟形容詞作表語,意為“保持(某種狀態(tài))”。例如:

stayhealthy保持健康

Thelibrarystaysopenallday.圖書館整天開著。

(2)stay作不及物動詞,后常接地點,意為“待在某地”。例如:

Sheisn'tverywellthesedaysandshehastostayathome.

她這些天身體不太好,不得不待在家里。

Iftheraindoesn'tstop,wewillstayhere.

如果這場雨不停的話,我們就呆在這兒。

IwenttoseemyauntduringmystayinBeijing.在北京逗留期間,我去看了我的姑媽。

(3)stay作名詞,后接地點,意為“待在某地的時候”o例如:

IwenttoseemyauntduringmystayinBeijing.在北京逗留期間,我去看了我的姑媽。

6.smell

⑴smell作實義動詞,意為“聞例如:

Pleasesmellthesoup!請聞聞這湯!

(2)smell作系動詞,意為“聞起來”,后接形容詞作表語。例如:

Dinnersmellsgood.晚飯聞起來很香。

【拓展】

(1)類似smell作系動詞的詞還有:look(看上去);feel(感覺起來、摸上去);sound(聽起來);

taste(品嘗)等。例如:

Themusicsoundsbeautiful.這首音樂聽起來很美。

Thefoodtastesgood.食物嘗上去很香。

【注意】

smell;look等系動詞不同于系動詞be,它們在變疑問句或否定句時不能簡單地提到主語之

前或加not,而是要通過助動詞do/does/did等來幫助實現(xiàn)。例如:

Doesitsmellnice?它聞起來很好嗎?

Thechickendoesn'ttastegood.雞肉嘗起來不好。

Howdothechildrenlook?孩子們看起來怎么樣?

7.yet

(l)yet作副詞,意為“到此時,至今,還,尚未”,用于否定句中。例如:

Wehaven,theardfromhimyet.我們還沒有收到他的來信。

Fmnotyetsureifwecouldwin.我還沒有把握確定我們是否能贏。

(2)作副詞,意為“已經(jīng)”,用于疑問句中。例如:

Iseverythingreadyyet?一切準備就緒了嗎?

Hastheshipleftyet?輪船已經(jīng)離開了嗎?

(3)作副詞,意為“仍然,還是”,用于肯定句中。例如:

He,syetachild.他還是個孩子。

(4)作連詞,意為“然而,可是”。例如:

Youcandrawahorseinfiveminutes,yetyoukeptmewaitingforayear,why?

你能在五分鐘之內(nèi)畫好一匹馬,然而你卻讓我等了一年,為什么?

Hetrainedhardallyear,yetshedidn'twinaprizeinthecompetition.

【拓展】

yet和already的辨析:

yet用于疑問句或否定句時,放在句末。例如:

Haveyoufinishedyet?你完成了嗎?

Hehasn'tdoneityet.他還沒有干完呢。

already常用于肯定陳述句中,一般位于助動詞之后,實義動詞之前。例如:

Thetrainhasalreadyleft.火車已經(jīng)開走了。

8.during/for

during是介詞,意為“在……期間”,其后跟時間段。在引導(dǎo)時間狀語時注意區(qū)分和for的用

法,區(qū)別如下:

1)during用在已知的時期、節(jié)日或表示時間觀念的名詞之前。其后通常接the,this,that,

these,those,my,your,his等詞。

duringthelastfourdays在過去的四天里

duringthewinter在冬季里

duringmyholidays在我的假期期間

TheymetandfellinlovewitheachotherduringtheSecondWorldWar.

他們在第二次世界大戰(zhàn)期間相遇并相愛。

2)for則用以表示“有限的”或“無限的”時間概念,通常其后接冠詞、數(shù)詞、復(fù)數(shù)名詞或副詞

句式精講

1.Iusedtogotoschoolbybike.

usedtodosth.是一個固定結(jié)構(gòu),意思是“過去經(jīng)常做某事”,后面用動詞原形,表示過去的某

種經(jīng)常性、習(xí)慣性的行為或者動作,并意味著這種動作目前已經(jīng)不存在。

肯定句:Iusedtoplaywithmyfriendsafterschool.過去放學(xué)后我常常和朋友們一起玩。

否定句:Youdidn'tusetolikepopsongs.=Youusedn'ttolikepopsongs.

你過去不喜歡流行歌曲。

一般疑問句:Didyoursisterusetobequiet?=Usedyoursistertobequiet?

你的妹妹過去常常是很安靜嗎?

therebe句式:Thereusedtobealotoffishesinthisriver.過去這條小河常常有許多魚。

【拓展】

(1)beusedtodosomething意思是“被用來做某事“,是動詞短語use...todo的被動語態(tài)結(jié)構(gòu)。

例如:

Knivesareusedtocutthings.小刀是用來切東西的。

(2)beusedtodoingsomething意思是“習(xí)慣于做某事”,to后接動詞-ing形式。例如:

Myfatherisusedtolivinginthevillage.我爸爸習(xí)慣于住在小山村。

2.MydadhasbeentoChengduonbusinesstwice.

havebeento+地點名詞,表示“曾經(jīng)去過某地”,但現(xiàn)在不在那里,后可接次數(shù),如once,twice,

threetimes等,表示“去過某地幾次“,也可和just,never,ever等連用。

MyfatherhasbeentoBeijingtwice.我父親去過北京兩次。

havegoneto和havebeento是現(xiàn)在完成時的兩個典型句式。havegoneto+地點名詞,表示“去

了某地”,可能已經(jīng)到達或者在路途中,不在說話的現(xiàn)場。如果havegoneto后接地點副詞

時,要省略to。

王先生不在這里。他去青島了。

3.Fminterestedinhistorybooks.

beinterestedin…結(jié)構(gòu),意為“對...感興趣”,后面跟名詞或動名詞作賓語。例如:

我對這個有趣的故事很感興趣。

Theyareinterestedinplayingcomputergames.

他們對玩電腦游戲感興趣。

辨析:interesting與interested

這兩個詞都是形容詞。interesting表示某物本身有趣,強調(diào)主動,在句子中可以作定語、表

語,多用來修飾物。interested著重于被動意義,其主語一般是人。常作表語,后接介詞in,

一起構(gòu)成beinterestedin...結(jié)構(gòu),意為“對感興趣”。

4.Afterourshipcrashedagainsttherocks,IswamasfarasIcould.

as...asonecan/could表示“盡某人所能...”,相當于as...aspossible。例如:

Pleasecomeasearlyasyoucan.=Pleasecomeasearlyaspossible.

請盡可能早來。

LinglingtalkstoherclassmatesinEnglishasmuchasshecan.

=LinglingtalkstoherclassmatesinEnglishasmuchaspossible.

doyouthink作插入語,其位置較為靈活,可以放在句首、句中或句尾,在句尾時,常用逗

號隔開,在句首時,要用陳述句語序。例如:
