12DifferencesinFemaleRoleConsciousnessbetweenChineseandWesternCulturesandTheirInfluenceonCareerDevelopmentAbstract:Duetothedifferentbackgroundsoflifeandhistory,thereisahugedifferenceinthefemaleroleconsciousnessbetweenChineseandWesterncultures.Thecurrentawakeningoffemaleconsciousnesshasbroughttremendouschangestowomen,whichisanimportantpartofsocialchange.ThispapermainlyanalyzesthesocialrolesandconsciousnessofChineseandWesternwomen,aswellastheawakeninganddifferenceoffemaleroleconsciousnessreflectedinChineseandWesternculture.ThepaperexploresthesimilaritiesanddifferencesbetweenChineseandWesternfemaleroleconsciousness,theinfluenceoffemaleconsciousness'sawakeningonitselfandtheimpactofcareerdevelopment.Keywords:ChineseandWestern;femalerole;difference;careerdevelopment中西方文化中女性角色意識(shí)差異及對(duì)職業(yè)發(fā)展的影響摘要:由于生活背景和歷史文化的不同,中西方文化之間的女性角色意識(shí)也有著巨大的差異。目前女性意識(shí)的覺醒給女性帶來了巨大的變化,這是社會(huì)變革的重要組成部分。本文針對(duì)中西方女性所處社會(huì)角色及意識(shí)進(jìn)行分析對(duì)比,以及中西方文化中反映出的女性角色意識(shí)的覺醒和差異,探索了中西方女性角色意識(shí)的異同以及女性意識(shí)的覺醒對(duì)自身的影響和職業(yè)發(fā)展的影響。關(guān)鍵詞:中西方;女性角色;差異;職業(yè)發(fā)展ntroductionThehugedifferencesinlifebackgroundandhistoricalculturepromotethedifferencesinfemaleroleconsciousnessbetweenChineseandWesterncultures.ThefemaleroleconsciousnessofChinaandtheWesthavetheirowncharacteristicsunderdifferentculturalbackgroundsindifferenteras.Theawakeningoffemaleconsciousnesshasbroughttremendouschangestowomen.Women'sawakeningisanimportantpartofsocialchange.Withtheadvancementofwomen'ssocialstatusandself-appeal,theimportanceofgenderresearchtopicshavebecomeincreasinglyprominent.Sohowtoachievemaximumgenderequalityundertheexistingeconomicsystem,andhelpfemalegroupstogetthesocialresourcestheydeservehavebecomeahottopicofconcernandresearch(Rogers&Anna,2010).Therefore,thisarticlewillexplainindetailthedifferencesinfemaleroleconsciousnessbetweenChineseandWesterncultures,andstudytheissuesindepthtoexplorethehistoricalandculturalbackgroundofthedifferencesinfemaleroleperceptionbetweenChineseandWesternwomen.Thenthepapercomparesthedifferencesandcarefullyanalyzestheirimpactoncareerdevelopment,andprovidessomereferenceforsubsequentresearch.BystudyingthedistinctfemaleroleconsciousnessinChineseandWesterncultures,inordertomoreaccuratelyidentifytheroleofwomenintoday'ssociety,italsopromotestheestablishmentanddevelopmentofaharmonioussocietytosomeextent,thedevelopmentofdomesticfemalecultureandgendercultureandtheawakeningoffemaleconsciousness(Fan&Wang,2015).LiteraturereviewSincethemid-1970s,theUnitedNationshasheldfourWorldWomen'sConferences.Women'sstudiesandgenderstudieshavemadegreatprogressintheUnitedStatesandtheworld.Especiallyinthenearfuture,genderresearchhasnotonlyfocusedonthestudyofcontemporarysocialpsychology,buthasalsoextendedtheresearchfieldtothecategoryofwomen'shistoryandgenderhistory,andhasextendeditsreachtoallaspectsofhumansociety'spoliticaleconomyandculture.Differentfromotherresearchsciences,theresearchofwomen'sgenderawarenessinChinaismostlybasedontheforeignresearchresultsastheorigin,butwiththetransformationofoverseasfeministmovementsandtheextremeprosperityofoverseasChinesestudies(Song,2001).ThestudyonChinesewomenfirstappearedoverseas,anditquicklygrewup.Inthe1990s,itenteredtheso-called"deepperiod"ofthescholars.Therearemanysuchresearchers.ZhuAiyi'sGenderandPowerinNorthernChinaVillagetellsusthechangeofthestatusofruralwomeninnorthernChina;andthefamousChinesescholarTangYin’sSexualDifferencesinAestheticsfromWesternFemalePaintings,whichbrieflydescribesthedifferencesbetweenChineseandWesternfemaleconsciousnessthroughart.LiuHuimin,afemaleresearcherinChina,summarizedandpublishedthearticlePost-feminismInspiresChineseContemporaryFemaleArtthroughadeepinvestigationandresearchoncontemporaryChineseandWesternwomen'sconsciousness(Bao,2017).ThesearethecurrentdomesticstudiesonthedifferencesbetweenChineseandWesternfemaleconsciousness(Kung&Kaby,2014).However,thedevelopmentofthedomesticfeministmovementislaggingbehind.AttheInternationalSymposiumon"HundredYearsofChineseFeministThoughts"in2004,anumberofscholarsandtheirresearchresultsonChinesegenderresearchemerged.Althoughtherearestillsituationsthatdeviatefromthesituationandidealizewomen's"equality"and"development",theyarestillbasedontextualliterature.Theuseofnewmethodsforresearchhasnotyetyieldedsignificantresults.Atpresent,China'sgenderresearchhasnotreceivedextensiveattention.Second,mostoftheresearchersarestilllimitedtothesurfaceresearchofwomen'ssocialstatusandlifesituation,andhavenotconductedin-depthdiscussions.Withtherapiddevelopmentofgenderscienceonaglobalscale,theissueofmenandwomenhasbeenelevatedtothelevelofasocialdiscipline.Thisopensawindowforhumanitytofinallysolvetheproblemofequalitybetweenmenandwomen.IntheprocessofexploringtheinfluenceofthedifferencesbetweenChineseandWesternfemaleconsciousnessontheircareerplanninganddevelopmentconcept,itisfoundthatthesourceofthedifferenceismainlycausedbythedifferencesbetweenthesocialandculturalheritageandthesocio-economicbasisofChinaandtheWest.Thehugedifferencesinsocio-culturalawarenessandsocio-economicbasisbetweenChinaandtheWestleadtodifferencesintheviewsofcareerdevelopmentbetweenChineseandWesternwomen(Pang,2011).BecauseintheWest,weallknowthatmostofthemarecapitalistcountries.Andatthebeginningtheyestablishedtheprincipleofsupremacyofmoneyandcapital.Therefore,inthecontemporaryWest,peoplearemoredeeplyinfluencedbycapitalism.Theydon’tcareaboutgender.Therefore,manyWesternwomenarealsowillingtochasefameandfortuneandcompetewithmaleprofessionals(Xing,2016).However,afterall,womendonothaveanadvantageinmanyaspects,sotheactualworksituationofmostfemaleprofessionalsisnotoptimistic.Forcapitalism,mostofthewomendonotplaywell,justasmallpartofthemarket,andcannotcreateasmuchmarketvalueasmen,sotheycannotbecomethemainforceofthemarket.Andwomenwillstillbesubjecttocertaindiscrimination(Ma,2010).Buttoday,thetimesaredevelopingandthesocialstructureischanging.Femaleroleconsciousnesshasbecomemoreopen,especiallyinWesternsociety.Thestrugglebetweenwomenandmeninsocialstatusandpowerhasbecomemoreintense,andWesternfemaleconsciousnesshasbeenmoreopen,sotheyareeagertobreaksomerestraints(Wang,2012).ComparedwithChinesewomen,becauseofChinesetraditionalculturalawareness,ChinesefemaleroleconsciousnessisnotasopenorindependentasWesternfemaleroleconsciousness.Theyaremoreconservativeandfollowsomeofthetraditionalfemaleideologicalandmoralawareness.AlthoughWesternwomenaremoreopen,therearemanyillsbehindthiskindofopenness,andtheyareuniquetowomen(Xu,2015).Withthecontinuousdeepeningofreform,openingup,andmodernizationinChina,theconsciousnessandsocialstatusofwomeninChinahavealsoundergonegreatchanges,whichcanbesaidtobeearth-shakingchanges.Undertheinfluenceofsomemodernnewideasandcareerdevelopmentplanning,manydomesticwomenhavetheirownpositioning,ratherthanrelyingonmenasbefore(Li,2014).Andnowthelevelofeducationisconstantlyimproving,womenhavethesamerighttoaccepteducationasmen,sowomencannowmakesomeoftheirownachievementsinmanyways,andachieveeconomicindependence.Withtheadvancementofwomen'ssocialstatusandself-appeal,theimportanceofgenderresearchtopicshasbecomemoreandmoreprominenttoimprovewomen'sstatus,ortoachievegenderequalitytothegreatestextentundertheexistingeconomicsystem.Thesocialresourceshavebecomeahottopicofconcernandresearch.IntheChinesedomesticculture,thefemaleroleconsciousnessappearsrelativelylate,andtheresearchonthisaspectisnotrichinWesternscholars.Inaddition,theresearchonthedifferencesoffemaleconsciousnessincareerdevelopmentindifferentculturalbackgroundsisrelativelyrare.ThegerminationoffemaleconsciousnessintheWestisearlierthanthatinChina.Therefore,theresearchonfeministmovementandfemaleroleconsciousnesshasalsoachievedgoodresults,andalsopromotedthedevelopmentofsomefemaleconsciousness.However,withthepassageoftime,domesticresearchonfemaleconsciousnesshasalsoachievedcertainresults.However,mostoftheresearchesonwomen'sconsciousnessinChinaortheWestarestudiedfromtheperspectiveofthedevelopmentofnationalcultureandhistory.Therearefewstudiesonthedifferencesbetweenwomen'sconsciousnessinChinaandtheWestandtheirimpactoncareerdevelopment.Therefore,thisarticlewillstudytheimpactofdifferentfemaleconsciousnessoncareerdevelopmentfromtheperspectiveofChinaandtheWest.ChineseandWesternfemaleroles'consciousnessandorientationThetwoconceptsofmaleandfemaletodayareindependentofeachother.Butalongtimeago,theconceptofwomenwasoriginatedfrommen.Becausemenhadphysiologicaladvantagesatthattime,theyoccupiedthemainpositionofsociety.Somanycountriesinancienttimeswerepatriarchal.Buttodayitiscompletelydifferent.Feministshaveraisedfemaleconsciousnesstoahighlevel.Femaleprofessionalshavealsoplayedtheirownroleinsociety,havebrokentheoriginalpatriarchyandbecomeanindependentandequalgroup.Femaleroleconsciousnessisgraduallyproducedinordertobeabletoobtainequalrightsinsocietytoacertainextent.Itisalsotheinevitableresultofthemodernfeministmovementandthedevelopmentofthetimes.Atthispoint,bothChineseandWesternwomenarethesame.ButtheroleconsciousnessofChinesewomenhasnotyetdevelopedtotheextentofWesternwomen,andthereisstillacertainmarginofrestraint.Itcanbesaidthattheemergenceofgenderdifferencesarethediversityofdesiresandincomprehensibilityofwomenandmen,aswellasthecharacteristicsofothers.Itisthebasisandfundamentalstartingpointoffeministresearch,becausewomenhavetheirowngenderdifferences.Differentfrommaleself-awareness,differentrolepositioningisrequired.Itbelievesthatalthoughgenderdifferencesareanimportantpartofwomen'sresearch,andgenderdifferencesaremorelikelytoresultfromrolepositioningbeforedifferences.Ifweemphasizetheuniqueexperiences,desiresandgendercharacteristicsof"female",nothingcanexplainwhatwomenandmenare.Thereisa"difference",anditseemsthatitispossibletorelapseintothequagmireofthe"patriarchaldualisticthinkingstructure"andthe"genderessencetheory"criticizedbyfeminism.Ontheotherhand,regardlessofgenderdifferences,patriarchyusesthisdifferencetooppresswomen.Throughcontinuousliberationandstruggle,womenaremoreandmoreclearlyawarethatonlybybreakingtheroleorientationcausedbygenderdifferencescantheyachievebotheconomicandideologicalliberation,andgetthedualfreedomofeconomyandthoughttocompletelygetridofit.Theoppressionofmenachievestrueequalitybetweenmenandwomeninsocialstatus.Itisforthisreasonthatthefullliberationofwomenandthefullautonomyofmarriageontheimprovementofwomen'seconomicstatusandtheeliminationoftheso-called"classopposition"betweenmenandwomen.Newwomenshouldideologicallyoverthrowthetraditionalconceptsofpatriarchalsociety,demandthinkingandeconomicself-independence.Womenareontheroadtoself-liberation.Decisionsshouldbemadeindependently,likemen,tocontroltheirowndestiny.Nowadayswomencontinuetoparticipateinsocialactivitiesandbroadentheirhorizonstofurtherstimulatewomen'skeenthinkingandabilitytowork.Secondly,bothChineseandWesternfemaleconsciousnessemphasizethatwomenshoulddaretofightagainstfeudaltraditionalforces.3.1FemaleroleconsciousnessinChinaThehistoricalandculturalbackgroundsofChinaaswellasthesocialdevelopmentaredifferentfromthoseofthewest.Thetrajectoryandscopeofthedevelopmentofthemodernfeministmovementalsovary.Atpresent,inadditiontothesimilarcharacteristicsofwomen'sconsciousnessintheprevioussection,duetothedifferentsocialenvironment,culturaleducation,andfamilylife,ChineseandWesternwomenhavemanydifferencesinfemaleconsciousnessandroleorientation.Chinesewomenhavealwaysbeenverygentleinhistory,theyarekindandobeytherulesofthewomen.BeforetheMayFourthMovement,Chinastillbelongedtoapatriarchalsociety,andtherewasalmostnoso-calledfemaleroleconsciousness.However,aftertheMayFourthMovement,thenewculturalcrazedeveloped,andsocialthoughtsandwomen'sgroupsweregreatlyliberated.Chinesewomenhavetheirownawarenessofright,andtheybegintounderstandandbegintothinkabouttheirownlifevaluesaswellascareerorientation.Butontheotherhand,althoughthefemaleroleconsciousnessinChinahasdevelopedalot,likeWesternwomen,theyalsohavetheirownbarrierstoconsciousness,soitisnecessarytounderstandandstudythefemaleroleofChinesewomentohavefurtherimprovement.Awell-knownfeministresearchscholarinChinaoncedividedwomenintothreecategories:Firstly,womenwhoarediscriminatedagainst:theroleofsuchwomenismainlyinthebody,andthecharmisontheoutside.Secondly,praisedwomen:thesewomenhavemanysimilaritieswithtraditionalChinesewomen,theso-calledgoodwifeandmother.Thirdly,autonomouswomencanbeconsideredthattheyaretheproductofthemodernfeministmovementandtheyarethegroupthattrulyhasmodernfemaleconsciousness.AndChinesewomenarecurrentlyfreefromthefirstcategoryofwomen,seekingabeautifulappearancebutnotsurpassingthemselves,oracceptingtheinfluenceoftraditionalideas,willingtobecomeahousewife.However,intoday'sdevelopedanddemocraticmodernsociety,thefemaleconsciousnessofChinesesocietyhasnotbeendeveloped.ThecorrespondingWesternvaluesarerelatedtoindividualfreedom,personalstruggle,andindividualtalents.Theyaremoreopenandavant-gardethanChinesewomen.Theydonothavethecontroloftraditionalethics.3.2FemaleroleconsciousnessinwesterncountriesUndertheinfluenceofsocialequality,democracyandcivilrights,WesternwomenaremoreindependentandstrongerthanChinesewomen.Whentheyarefrustrated,theywanttobestronganddaretotrytoinnovateonmanythings.Andtheyhaveendurance,havetheirownuniquevaluesandself-awareness.Inaddition,Westernwomenbelievethatwomenshouldfullyappreciatethejoyofbeingawoman.Womenshouldnotbeattachedtomen.TheyaremorelikelytorecognizetheirowngenderthanChinesewomen.Theyaremorepleasedwithbeingawoman.Theirmarriageconceptismoreadvancedandtheiremotionsareunrestrained.TheconceptoftreatingthefamilyisalsoverydifferentfromthatofChinesewomen.TheyarenotasdependentonthefamilyasChinesewomen,andtheyarenotboundbytheendlessthoughts.Therefore,thefemaleconsciousnessintheWestemphasizestheexpressionoftheself-femaleconsciousness.Chinesewomen’sstruggleforsomewomen’srightsisalwaysmorenegative,whileWesternwomenaretheopposite.Intoday'ssociety,therealizationofwomen'ssocialstatusandself-worthhasbeensignificantlyimproved.Onthewhole,theself-awarenessofWesternwomenisfarstrongerthanthatofChinesewomen.Ontheotherhand,intheWest,wherethevaluesofpersonalinterestsaretheprevailing,feminismisalsoaffectedbysuchthoughts.Manywomenareexcessivelychasingpersonalinterests,whichleadstotheworshipofmoneyandhedonism.Analysisofthedifferencesinfemaleconsciousness4.1TheoriginofthedifferencesInthestudyofthedifferencesinfemaleroleconsciousnessbetweenChineseandWesterncultures,thefirstthingtomentionistheoriginofdifferences.Relativelyspeaking,theroleoffemaleinWesternsocietyhasdevelopedrelativelyearly.DuringtheRenaissance,therewasanenlightenmenttostudytheroleoffemalecharacters.Forexample,inthebookTheTenDaysbyBoccaccio,therecognitionoffemaleidentityandtheawakeningoffemaleconsciousnessarementionedforthefirsttime(Song,2001)ThefemaleroleconsciousnessintheWestsproutedinthe19thcentury.Thetremendousdevelopmentofthecapitalistindustrygreatlypromotedwomen'scouragetobreakthroughtheshacklesoftheworldandstepintothesocialarena.Fromthenon,thestruggleagainstfemalediscriminationbegan.Thebourgeoiswomen'smovementfirstbeganinFrance,wherewomen'sconsciousnessappearedearlier,anditcausedgreatrepercussionsinth
