whether還可意為“是否”,常引導(dǎo)賓語從句,此時可與if互換。如:Idon’tknowif/whetherheissatisfiedwithmywork.我不知道他對我的工作是否滿意。
要點聯(lián)想在下列情況下,只能用whether,不能用if。(1)在不定式前。如:Thequestioniswhethertogoorstay.問題是去還是留。(2)在介詞后。如:Itdependsonwhetherheisreadyornot.這取決于他是否做好了準(zhǔn)備。(3)與ornot連用時。如:Iaskedhimwhetherornothewascoming.我問他是否要來。(4)引導(dǎo)賓語從句且放到句首時。如:Whetherhehasstolenthemoney,Ican’tsay.他是否偷了錢,我說不準(zhǔn)。即學(xué)即練(1)(
