14、inking of how she can do more for people. 她總是在考慮怎樣為人們多做些事。(表示贊揚) He was always asking for money. 他總是要錢。(表示厭煩) She is always asking for leave. 她總是請假。(表示不滿) always與not連用,表示部分否定, 意思是“不總是”。例如: The rich are not always happy. 有錢人未必總是幸福的。(2) usually的頻度為70%左右,意為“通常”、“平常”, 即很少有例外。例如: He usually goes to schoo

15、l at 8 oclock. 他通常8點去上學(xué)。(3) often的頻度為50%左右,意為“常?!?但不如usually那么頻繁, 表示動作重復(fù), 中間有間斷。 例如: He is often late for school. 他上學(xué)經(jīng)常遲到。 very often語氣比often重,常位于句首或句末。例如: He doesnt go to London very often. 他不常去倫敦。(4) sometimes的頻度為20%左右,意為“有時”,表示動作偶爾發(fā)生??梢晕挥诰涫?以示強調(diào)。例如: Joan goes to school on foot, but sometimes by b

16、ike 瓊步行上學(xué),但有時也騎自行車去。(5) hardly的頻度為5%左右,意為“幾乎不”、“簡直不”,常和ever連用表示強調(diào)。例如: I can hardly walk any further。 我再也走不動了。(6) never的頻度為0,意為“從來不”、“永不”。例如: I have never been there. 我從未到過那里。4. “Nothing could have been better,” he thought. 他想,“再沒有比這些更好吃的了”。 此句子用比較級形式表示最高級的意義。含義是 All his foods could have been the bes

(informal): not be punished for sth. 不因某事受懲罰 I wont have you getting

23、 away with cheating in the exam. 我不能容忍(允許)你考試作弊而不受處罰。 get away with sth. steal sth. and escape with it 偷攜某物潛逃。 The robbers robbed the bank and got away with a lot of money. 這些盜賊搶了銀行, 攜巨款潛逃。 receive (a relatively light) 受到(較輕的處罰) He was so lucky to get away with a fine for such a serious mistake.他犯了如此嚴(yán)重的錯誤, 僥幸只交了罰款了事。8.
