Dragon became a symbol of China, Chinese nation and Chinese culture.,Preface,“Descendants of the dragon “,Origin of Chinese Dragon,Dragon was one of the totem(圖騰) worship images in remote times when people liked to use the images of creatures or plants which they held in awe (敬畏)as symbols of their tribes(部落). They believed that totem worship could bring them protection and good luck.,Chinese dragon is of magic power. It can change the length of its body as it wishes, it can either fly or swim and it can even bring rainfalls. So its always been built as stone, and carried stone tablet on its back.,The second son of dragon, Chi wen .螭吻,It likes climbing very much, the special ability of him is that it can spray wave and control the rainfall. So its always put at the ridge of the house in hopes that it can protect us from fire and other things.,The third son of dragon, Pulao 蒲牢,Pulao likes singing very much, and its voice is loud. The voice can spread for a long distance, so it is often decorated on bells.,The fourth son of dragon, Bi an 狴犴,Bi an administers the prison. It looks like a tiger. In ancient China, its the symbol of law, so its often decorated on door of the prison.,The fifth son of dragon,Taotie 饕餮,Taotie has a very big mouth and a big Head. It likes eating very much. Its also fierce and powerful. So its often used as a symbol of safety, acting as a hushenfu(護(hù)身符) in Chinese.,The sixth son of dragon, Baxia.蚆嗄,Ba xia likes water, so it is always decorated on the bridge.,The seventh son of dragon ,Yazi 睚眥,Yazi is temperamental and loves fight.
