Knowledge Objects(1) Function: Learn to describe and talk about the health problems and accidents.Learn to give others some right advice according to their problems.(2)Key Vocabulary: matter, sore, throat, stomachache, foot, neck, stomach, fever, lie, rest, cough, toothache, headache, have a sore back, have a stomachache, have a cold, lie down, see a dentist, get an X-ray, take ones temperature, have a fever, have a headache, take breaks, in the same way, go to a doctor(3)Target Language:Whats the matter? I have a stomachache./ I have a sore back. / I have a cold. She has a very sore throat. My head feels very hot. What should I do? I think you should lie down and rest.(4)Structure:have a+ the names of the illnessshould+verb2. Ability ObjectsEnable students to talk about health problems and give advice with the language points.3. Moral Objects(1)Improve the cooperative spirit through pair work and role playing.(2)Students care more about themselves and their family members health.學(xué)情分析八年級的學(xué)生具有過渡性和動蕩性的心理特點,處于兩極分化的突出時候,學(xué)生差異較大,因此在任務(wù)設(shè)計上要注重分層,面向全體,充分調(diào)動每個學(xué)生的積極性。但由于這個階段的學(xué)生活潑好動,好奇心較強,再加上本節(jié)課又是有關(guān)健康的話題,所以在課堂設(shè)計上利用多媒體設(shè)備設(shè)計豐富的活動, 給學(xué)生充分表現(xiàn)自己及運用英語的機會。重難點Teaching Key Points1. Learn and master the parts of the body, the names of the illness and the expressions of giving advice.2. Learn to talk about health problems by using “Whats the matter? I have a” and give advice by using “should”.Teaching Difficult Points1. Learn to talk about health problems by using “Whats the matter? I have a”.2. Learn to give appropriate advice to the certain health problems. Unit 1 Whats the matter?Period 1 Section A (1a-1c)學(xué)時目標(biāo)1. Knowledge Objects:(1) Ss can use the following words:head, ear, eye, mouth, nose, throat , neck, back, hand, arm, leg, tooth-teeth, foot-feet , matter, have a cold, stomachache, backache, headache, toothache.(2) Ss can use the following sentence patterns:Whats the matter? I have a stomachache. /I have a sore back. /I have a cold. He/She has a sore throat.2. Ability Object:Enable students to talk about health problems using target language.3. Emotion Object:Learn to talk about the health problems and give care to others.學(xué)時重點Learn how to talk about health, use have /has to talk about health problems.學(xué)時難點 Learn the English names of different parts of human body and talk about various health problems.教學(xué)活動Step 1 Warming-up (3 minutes)Listen and sing an English song: If youre happy and you know it, clap your hands.(設(shè)計意圖:通過聽唱英語歌曲來活躍氣氛,讓學(xué)生很快融入到英語學(xué)習(xí)的氛圍中,同時為下面引出身體各部位名稱的教學(xué)作鋪墊。)Step 2 Word study (4 minutes)1. T: Are you happy? S: Yes, we are. T: When were happy, we can clap our hands and stamp our feet. Hands and feet are parts of our body. Do you know other parts of our body in English?2. Teach the parts of the body. While teaching one, let them touch or show it.(設(shè)計意圖:用圖片來教學(xué)新的單詞,直觀、形象生動。)3. Present a picture of Pan Changjiang. Let the Ss say the parts of his body.(設(shè)計意圖:用明星的圖片激發(fā)學(xué)生的興趣,有利于單詞的鞏固記憶。)4. Memory game.Step 3 Practice (3 minutes)1. Ask the students to look at the pictures of the students numbered 1 through 5.Several body parts are marked with the letters a m. Write the correct letter after the name of each body part on the list.2. Get the students to discuss and complete by themselves.3. Check answers and read aloud.Step 4 Presentation and practice (10 minutes)1. T: Now I see you are happy, but some people are not happy. Lets look!Theres something wrong with their bodies.T: Look at the picture, is he happy?Ss: No, he isnt.T: Why? (Help the Ss to answer: He has a (bad) cold.)(設(shè)計意圖:以happy這個單詞自然地引出the man whos not happy because he has have a (bad) cold.為下面引出其他人的種種不適做鋪墊。)2. Present other pictures, talk about health problems of the persons in the pictures. Whats the matter? He/She has a headache/ toothache /a sore back/ a sore throat/a cold and a cough.(設(shè)計意圖:用形象生動的圖片來引出本課要掌握的句型,有利于學(xué)生對新知識的掌握。)3. Grammar focus.Whats the matter with sb?= Whats the trouble with sb?= Whats wrong with sb?注:with為介詞,后跟人稱代詞賓格,如her,him,them等。eg:Whats the matter with your mother?Whats wrong with you?Whats the trouble with her?在英語中,表達(dá)“疼痛或不舒服”時的常用結(jié)構(gòu):(1)主語+have/has+a 病癥 have a cold/fever (2)主語+have/has+a+sore+發(fā)病部位 sore 是一個獨立的形容詞,指的是身體某一部位的酸痛。如:sore back, sore throat, sore neck.(3)主語+have/has+a+部位-ache -ache作后綴,常與表示身體部位的名詞合成一個新詞,表身體某部位疼痛,如:toothache , headache , stomachache .4. T: Suppose there is something wrong with your body, please use gestures to show it .You may say: I have a headache. I have a sore throat.Make a model dialogue.T: Whats the matter?S: I have a headache.T: Oh, thats too bad. Im sorry to hear that.Let the Ss practice in pairs.(設(shè)計意圖:以對話的形式來操練句型,鞏固新句型的使用。從第三人稱過渡到第一人稱,對學(xué)生來說是簡單了。加上兩句話來學(xué)校表達(dá)自己對他人生病的情感。)Step 5 listening (5 minutes)Task 2:1b.Work on Section A 1b, listen and number the names 1-5. 1. Get the class to look and read the names in 1b quickly.2. Listen to tape twice and find the correct answers.3. Listen to the tape again. Then ask them to role play the conversations in pairs like this:Sa: Whats the matter, Nancy?Sb: I have a headache.Step 6 Speaking (5 minutes)Task 3:1c. Talk about the health problems of the persons in the picture.1. Have students look at the picture and read 1c, and tell students that the girl talked too much yesterday and she has a very sore throat now. Then ask them look at the picture, practice saying other problems. For example: The boy eats too much ice cream and has a stomachache.2. Have students work in pairs according to 1c and ask some pairs to act out their conversations.Step7 Chant (2 minutes) Head, head, I have a headache. I have a headache,Stomach, stomach, I have a stomachache. I have a stomachache,Ear, ear, I have an earache. I have an earache,Tooth, tooth, I have a toothache. I have a toothache.Back, back, I have a sore back. I have a sore back,Throat, throat, I have a sore throat. I have a sore throat.Oh, dear! Do more exercise, and please keep healthy!(設(shè)計意圖:結(jié)合本單元內(nèi)容設(shè)計的chant,有利于學(xué)生鞏固句型。同時chant節(jié)奏明快,朗朗上口,有助于形成良好的學(xué)習(xí)氛圍。)Step 8 Exercises (9 minutes)一、根據(jù)句意、漢語意思和首字母提示完成句子。1.
