牛津高中英語教學設計單元:Unit 3 Looking good, feeling good板塊:ReadingThoughts on the design:本節(jié)課是以語言點教學為主的語言實踐課。從語言教學的出發(fā)點來看,培養(yǎng)學生閱讀理解能力與掌握基礎知識是緊密聯(lián)系、相輔相成的,因為最終目的都是培養(yǎng)學生的綜合語言應用能力。本課結合語篇語境講授語言點,選取適當例句以增加課堂的趣味性;通過口頭、筆頭練習,強化課本中的語言點,做到精講多練。對于重要的或較難的語言點,設計反復性練習,以強化記憶,擴展思維。充分調(diào)動學生的學習積極性,靈活地增刪教材,采用有效教學手段,開展生動活潑的、有交際意義的、以學生為主體的語言實踐活動。Teaching aims:After learning this part, the students will be able to raise their reading abilities by focusing on language points and grasp the new usage of some important words and phrases in the text through language practice.Teaching procedures:Step 1 Lead-inReview the previous period by letting the students discuss the following question in groups:What do you think is the best way for teenagers to keep healthy?Suggested key phrases for their reference: going on a diet taking exercise regularly enough sleep healthy diet receiving surgical treatment taking weight-loss pills be confidentExplanation 提出“青少年保持健康的最佳方式”這一話題讓學生展開討論,復習已經(jīng)學過的課文并引入本課的重點語言點的學習。Step 2 Language points1. be dying to do sth. (=be very eager to do sth.) 她渴望見到你。She is dying to see you.曾經(jīng)一時,許多年輕人渴望出國。There was a time when many young people were dying to go abroad.be dying for sth. (=be thirsty/eager for sth.)They are dying for a slim figure.People there are thirsty for freedom.He is eager for success.2. used to do (=did repeatedly in the past)表示與現(xiàn)在相反的過去某種習慣,意為“過去常?!?。如:我過去常常起床很早并且在早餐前散步一小時。 I used to get up early and take an hours walk before breakfast. 過去在山頂有一座寺廟嗎?Used there to /Did there use to be a temple on top of the hill?你父親曾經(jīng)喝很多酒,是不是?Your father used to drink a lot, didnt / usednt he?Compare:be used to doing sth./sth. (=be accustomed to sth./doing sth習慣于)be used to do sth. (被用于做)3. work out (=engage in an exercise/solve/develop in a good way可譯為“進行鍛煉、計算出、(情況等)發(fā)展”) Amy keeps fit by working out in the gym every day. Amy通過每天在體育館鍛煉來保持健康。 Can you work out the answer for me?你能為我計算出答案嗎?We didnt plan it like this but it worked out very well. 我們并沒計劃這樣,但結果竟然很好。 4. be ashamed of (=feel embarrassed or guilty) 他對自己的失敗感到慚愧。He is ashamed of his failure. be ashamed that ./be ashamed to do 他很慚愧他撒了謊。He is ashamed that he has lied.我不好意思告訴我父母我考試不及格。I am too ashamed to tell my parents that I have failed the exam.5. recover (=return to a normal state of health/ regain possession of)指恢復(健康)、補償(損失)、挽回(失物)等。He recovered his sight after the operation.Has the manager recovered from the shock yet?We soon rearranged our plan and recovered our losses. 6. contain (=have or hold) 那個盒子里裝著我的回憶。That box contains my memories.這些食物里脂肪含量都太高了。The food contains too much fat.他們有很多寵物, 貓就有三只。They have many pets, including three cats.7. worth (=having a certain value/deserve to be) adj. 值得, 值(多少錢)be worth doing 值得做這棟房子值很多錢。The house is worth a lot of money. 這篇文章值得讀。The article is worth reading.8. be embarrassed about (=feel awkward or ashamed) 對感到難為情/困窘不安他仍對他所做的事感到很尷尬。 He was still quite embarrassed about what he had done.我對在公眾場合說英語感到尷尬。I am embarrassed about speaking English in public.9. as you are 是as引導的方式狀語從句。意思是“照你現(xiàn)狀,照你原樣”。 不必改變自己你這樣就很好。You dont have to change yourself you are fine just as you are.你應該隨遇而安。You must take things as they are. Explanation 結合語篇語境講授語言點,將主要詞匯、短語和句型以語句的形式在課件中呈現(xiàn),并注意使選取的例句具有較強的示范功能。Step 3 PracticeI.
