4、ecame the first emperor of a unified feudalistic China. Before that, China was divided by 7 states, Qi, Chu, Yan, Han, Zhao, Wei and Qin. They often started wars between each other and many people died. This was called the Warring States Period. Qin gradually became the most powerful country among t

5、he 7 states, and it destroyed all the others. The Qin Emperor not only unified the currency and the character, etc, but also established a complete feudalistic system that set an example for later dynasties. 2. In 1949, Chairman Mao announced the establishment of new China. That day now became the N

6、ational Day. Before 1949 China was in a series of disasters. Foreign countries invaded China and grasped a lot of wealth and land from China. Military commanders also started civil wars. Common people were exploited heavily and were in a very miserable situation. Chairman Mao and the Communist Party

7、 led people to drive away Japanese invaders and destroyed the corrupted Kuomintang government. They established socialist China and ended the unstable situation. China developed very quickly after I949. 3. From 1861 to 1865, America was in the Civil War period. The direct reason was the election of

8、Abraham Lincoln as the president. He was against slavery. The slave-owners in Southern State were unsatisfied. They wanted to be independent from the reign of the North. In fact, the fundamental reason was the development of capitalist economy in northern areas which needed the abolishment of the la

9、ggard plantation economy relying on slavery. During the war, the south was defeated and the slavery was abolished. The Negroes were liberated. The capitalist economy developed quickly after that. 4. The WWII was the largest and the most disastrous international war in the human history. Its impact e

10、ven lasted to today. German Nazis headed by Hitler started the war at first. They invaded Poland in 1939. Then they attacked France, Britain and Russia. The other fascists were in Italy and Japan. The Japanese army invaded China in 1937, and even attacked the American military base. Other countries

11、were forced to fight against them and at last they won. WWII greatly changed the international situation.
