2、interested in European and American music. At age 15, he bought an acoustic guitar and learned how to play by himself. From that moment on, he spent most of his time learning music on his own while still working other jobs.The formation of Beyond:In 1983, Wong Ka Kui met Yip Sai Wing, and formed a r

3、ock band called Beyond.In 1986, Beyond self-published Goodbye Ideals on cassette tape. Their early styles were mostly hard rock, new wave, post-punk, experimental and avant-garde. But their album sale still did not meet expectations.Beyond was a Hong Kong rock band formed in 1983. The band became pr

4、ominent in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Mainland China.The band was, and still is, widely considered as the most successful and influential Cantonese music group from Hong Kong.Become famous:In 1988,Beyond became famous with the song Earth,which let them become a popular favorit

5、e singer.Soon after,the song Truly love you created as a tribute to his mother was sung in every corner of the street.Gradually Beyond became the most popular band in Hong Kong.The most famous period:In 1991,Beyond held five concerts in Hong Kong Coliseum continuously,and became the first band to si

6、ng here.And later,they went to a bigger stage Japan,where more respect musical creation.In 1993, Wong ka kui Led his band to Malaysia and held his last music concert.Charity:Wong ka kui has a love heart,and he created a lot of songs whose themes are against war and social injustice. Though he got hi

7、gh achievements of his music,he never forgot to do charity.In their musical career,they paid more attention to social issues and the ongoing events around the world.In 1991, Beyond visited Kenya and witnessed the grinding poverty and misery there. Also while in Africa they set up the Beyonds Third W

8、orld Foundation to donate money to the needy in Africa.Upon their return, a number of songs were written addressing the serious problems of Africa.The pros of fame:They can reach more people who enjoy their music.Fame let more people know their songs.They can get rid of poverty, and have more music

9、funding.Beyond became an idol band from an underground band.They were no longer looked down upon by others.They drove the development of original music.It expanded the influence range of Beyond, let their songs to the whole world.It let their dream, the world tour concert, one step closer.The cons o

10、f fame:Their songs must infiltrated popular elements,otherwise the works can not be published.Wong ka Kuis songwriting style had to change in order to cater to the public taste.Their songs was polluted by commerce.They were restricted by the company,and had to abide by the rules of the music circles ,so they lost a lot of freedom.They were often asked to participate in the entertainment program,which they hated very much beause it wasted their precious time playing music.Beyo
