However, when his father, a man whom Larry hardly knows, returned from WWI, a constant battle happened between Larry and his father for the mothers love and attenti

What are the characteristics of Larry? cares a lot about his mother. childish, but behaves like an adult person, and observes things in detail and analyzes them logically. has sophisticated words and thoughts. pays great attention to equality and fairness I put my feet out from under the clothes

3、-I called them Mrs. Left and Mrs. Right-and invented dramatic situations for them in which they discussed the problems of the day. Why did Larry call them Mrs left and Mrs Right? However, She didnt understand these, therefore, her husbands treasures meaned just toys for her. Father got hurt because her wife didint understand him, even worse, she didnt trea

7、t her husband as a man, but another Larry. The second version: She wanted to be a mediator between son and husband and tried to connect them. For example, by leting Larry play with Fathers treasures, Larry can know more about his father. Although She didnt say directly, but she implied that father s

8、hould make a step into the sons world , communicating with the son and showing his love. “What time is it?” he asked in a panic-stricken voice, not looking Mother but the door, as if he saw someone there. “Its early yet,” she replied soothingly. “Its only the child. For example, at the beginning the young boy dislikes his father and does a lot of things to compete with his father. Besides, the plot of this text is about the psychological change of Larry. 11、ing with his father in one bed in the end of the story symbolizes the protagonists successful psychological change. No. “My Oedipus Complex” is a piece of artistic creativity ( sibling rivalry) rather than scientific experiment of Freudianism. The author distorts fathers role-model in a family and i

12、ntroduces sibling rivalry into Oedipus Complex, which gives readers a brand new understanding of human relations.1). To some extent, Larry considered his father as his brothers because he didnt understand what father is and what are the differences between them.2). The disappearance of father-son ri

13、valry of Oedipus Complex in this story is not ended up with the sons entering into Castration Complex, but with the shift of mothers love to the new-born.The new birth in family attracts all mothers attention.
