5、ially selected those materials that were close to real-life. Certainly, the materials should not be difficult. With the materials help, T m sure they could make great progress in English reading. They could more like to read English and they could more confidence than ever before.PerformTeacher knew

6、 many of children like to show themselves before others. They love to laugh and play. They want to feel special .They want to be active and participate. So I often gave students chance to make up dialogues and plays, then asked them to act .Sometimes teacher encouraged them to tell short stories in

7、their own English. Teacher found them liking this kind of activities. They became interested in English reading.CheckingTeacher always checked their work carefully. Teacher have ever met their parents for above reasons .they said they would paymore attention to the serious problem, while their child

8、ren couldn t finish their homework .From then on, these parents started to pay attention to their English reading.Reduce their pressureThe students felt nervous they would make mistakes. Teachers should asked them to relax and lead them to know how interesting to read English. Teachers showed respec

9、t and appreciation for what they do. Teachers praised and encouraged them, Well done, How niceTeacher should very careful when correcting the students. They focused on praising them for what they do well. Mistakes are a natural and very frequent part of English reading.Teacher made the correction ve

10、ry matter-of-fact ,teacher didn t dwell on the error, and teacher didn t forget to praise the students for trying :You can do best next time .If a student answers a question incorrectly in the class, teacher got the class to help the student or offer correction privately to the student before or aft

11、er class .A good opportunity was when the students were practicing together in pairs. Teacher wasalways very carefully not to embarrass a student in front of others.The students often complained they had too much written homework about different subject They spent most of time on written homework an

12、d no time to practice English. So they can t do well in English reading. Then teacher gave them less written homework if they practice English .They felt very happier because they had enough time to finish their homework and had no criticize.3.4.2 Activities to Improve the Students7 InterestThe hypo

13、thesis is that students interest will be greatly increased by encouraging students do more practices and better activities. Now designed one activity:ActivityReading activities designPurpose : To practice the students7 reading .Tell them how to master the main ideas of passage.Model 1.A middle-aged

14、professor said that his wife was too extravagant, because no matter how much he give her for the household expenses, she always ran short.In this sentence, the meaning of the word extravagant can be easily guessed.Model 2.Prometheus stayed chained to the lock for many years, Then at last the mighty.

15、Hercules came forth and broke the bonds -but that is another of the wonderful stories of the Greeks.In This paragraph, the words 11 stayed chainedH is the hint, So they can guess what bonds11 means.Model 3.The tiny droplets that form on dust particles very small pieces of dust, to produce a cloud ar

17、un state-run.Sometimes they cant guess what the word means. If the word doesnt affect your reading, let it be. For example,A German told me that all over China they use Gourmet powder in their food. It will give you higher blood pressure.They may know that gourmet it kinds of thing that can be eat.

18、But it doesnt matter whether they know what it is.Another problem that affects their reading speed is they reading habit and they reading skill.Some one reads word by word. Some one reads with his finger pointing to the words or with his head shaking. Those are all bad habits. I asked them should re

19、ad phrase by phrase. Dont blink their eyes so often and donft shake their head. Just move their eyeball. Thafs enough. If they want to get more word information, there must be a proper distance between their eyes and the reading material.I think browsing is an important step while they are doing the

20、ir reading comprehension.Some students begin to read at once when he get a reading material, even without knowing, its title. But after reading for many times, he wont understand what the article says.Looking through the material first means fore reading. In an examination, they want to grain the in

21、formation which the questions ask, they cant read the material in a usual way, and they cant read the whole material word by word. They gad have to omit some sentence, sometimes even a whole paragraph, which have nothing to do with the questions.I think they might read the given questions fast as we

22、ll, then the material. There is an advantage to do this. When they read the material with the questions, they can save their time.Model:A Festival Atmosphere.At midnight on New Years Eve, people in Rome, Italy, throw out all the things they no longer want. The streets are filled with old chairs, bed

23、s, clothes and dishes.In Madrid, Spain, the New Year comes in more quietly. People come to the main soured. Each holds a bag of grapes (葡萄).As the clock strikes twelve, the people eat the grapesone for each stroke.In Tokyo, capital of Japan, people eat noodles in New Years Eve. This food is said to

29、 long life-climb MountFuji-first sunriseNow, they may have some idea of the out line of the article, then they may read the whole material3.5 Data Analysis and ResultsAfter a month7 s action research, to know what students had gained and .What had happened to them and which methods they preferred? A

30、fter a month, s action research, and from these methods, the students English reading have a obviously improver. The results of the questionnaires are below.英語閱讀中的興趣對閱讀質(zhì)量起到積極影響,提高學(xué)生英語閱讀的興趣 能促進(jìn)學(xué)生英語成績的提高。因此中學(xué)英語教學(xué)應(yīng)把培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的英語學(xué) 習(xí)興趣作為英語教師的首要任務(wù)之一。初中階段是英語學(xué)習(xí)的初級階段, 研究說明:外語學(xué)習(xí)興趣的培養(yǎng)應(yīng)該從早期開始。本研究選取一所普通初 中的一個(gè)班級的40名學(xué)生為

31、研究對象,首先通過問卷調(diào)查研究學(xué)生的閱 讀狀況和閱讀興趣。結(jié)果說明,初中學(xué)生英語閱讀興趣普遍缺乏。英語閱 讀教學(xué)的重要性已得到廣泛的認(rèn)可,如何提高初中學(xué)生的英語閱讀水平 一直是很多研究人員和英語教師共同關(guān)心的話題。本文旨在幫助初中生 在學(xué)習(xí)外語的初級階段,理清閱讀策略,并強(qiáng)化閱讀策略,采取適當(dāng)?shù)慕虒W(xué) 手段來鞏固和提高。AbstractExam-oriented education has negative effects and students become less and less interested in English learning. Students1 interest ha

32、s positive influence on the reading effectiveness. So the teaching of English reading in middle school should stimulate students1 interest. Teacher wasn t very glad when she knew 10% still dislike English. 3% of them made me have no smiling face though the number is much smaller than that before implementation.The results of the two questionnaires show 85% of them can do the listening test well, 90% can read the passage in th

38、her improvement. This thesis aim is to stimulation of students7 interest in English reading. In this questionnaire have only one class forty students. So the contrast has little convincing. It is difficult to explain the problem. So this thesis has limitation.ConclusionReading English needs practice

39、. The 40 minutes in class is very precious and should be cherished, during which the students should practice as much as possible. To exert the limited time, teachers are required to adopt some effective methods. New language can not only attract the students1 attention, but also deepen their impres

40、sion and imagination. The teachers should try to teach in English from the beginning to the end.Now teacher is happy to say that her problems have solved .This action research helps she cultivate awareness of the dynamic mechanism in her English teaching .From the action research, teacher have gaine

41、d lots of benefits. She teaching has been improved conversably .She have more confidence in myself as an English teacher.Now she have learned a lot and improve a lot .Students1 ability of English are certainly and greatly improved .Teacher will go on studying and searching which will lead to the end

42、less progress thriving for perfect teaching .Teacher also hope my students can learn more and more knowledge to contribute our country in future .subjects. The importance of English reading comprehension has been widely accepted. How to improve the English reading level of the junior high school stu

43、dents has been the topic concerned by both researchers and English teachers. This dissertation is an attempt to help junior middle school students analyze different kinds of reading strategies and then consolidate these reading strategies during the elementary period of their studying English and me
