Teaching procedures and ways 教學(xué)過程與方式StepWarming up and lead-in In this procedure, get the students think of some ways to describe something using the sentences with that structure. T: Morning, boys and girls. We have learned a passage about Australia
14、. Can you describe something about Australia with that structure. S1: The Aborigines are the people that have lived in Australia from the earliest times. S2: The ancient Aboriginal stories describe the spirits that created the world. S3: The food and drink that most Australians like are grapes, lamb
15、, ham and. S4: Especially wine that they make in the south of the country. S5: The games that they love the most are football, cricket and rugby.T: Very good. I am very happy that you have mastered it very well and remembered it very clearly. Now, here are some other pictures for you to describe wit

StepSpeaking and vocabulary In this procedure, get the students learn about the school dance;Show the following picture: T: Please look at the pictur
19、e. Where are the students and their teachers. Ss: They are at school. T: What are they doing there. S1: They are having a party.S2: They are dancing together happily. S3: They are having a good time. T: Yeah. They are having a party and they are dancing. They are at the school dance. Read after me t
20、he “school dance”. Ss: School dance. T: Now, it s easy for you to describe the photo on Page 64. Its a school dance. Can you describe it using the words in the box. Sample answers: In the picture, we can see it s a concert. The Blues Boys are playing. Its the band which gets everyone dancing. At the
21、 back, we can see the drums which are really loud. At the front, we can see two boys performing. The boy on the left is playing the guitar and the one on the right is singing and dancing. After describing the photo, the teacher plays the tape; the students listen and check the answers. Step Listenin
22、g and reading In this procedure, ask the students to get the main idea and some details from the conversation. a. Ask students to listen to the conversation and answer the following question: T: Where are they. Ss: They are at the school dance. T: Right. b. Ask the students to read the first half of
23、 the conversation and try to answer the questions. T: Have you finished reading it. Ss: Yes, we have. T: OK. My question is “Who is He Zhong”. S1: He Zhong is the photographer who won the photo competition last time. T: You are right. The second question is “ Where is he.”S2: He is at the front. T:
24、Right. Next question is “What is he doing.”S3: He is taking some photos. T: The last question, “ Which band is playing.”S4: The Blues Boys. c. Ask the students to read the second half of the conversation and try to answer the questions. T: Now, the first question to the second half, “Who is on the l
25、eft.”S5: The boy who plays the guitar is on the left. T: What happened to Tony. S6: Tony couldnt find his camera. Tony lost his camera. T: The last one, “What is Tony s father going to do.”S7: He is going to pick Tony up. T: You ve done very well. By doing like this, I think you have got the importa
26、nt information of the dialogue. d. Books closed. Ask two of the students to read the conversation and the others just listen to them. e. Put the questions of Activity 4 on the screen and get students answer them voluntarily. Sample answers to Activity 4: 1. Because he can t see over peoples heads. 2
27、. Because he is going to enter the photo competition. 3. The Blues Boys band can get everyone dancing. 4. Tony thinks that he himself will win the competition. 33、ny s dad hope to go with Tony when he picks him up. Ss: Maybe he hopes to go out to try out his camera. T: Here “pick up” means “give somebody a lift in a car. The last one “Did Tony try out his father s camera.”Ss: Yes, he did. T: Here “try out” means “ test something by using it. T: It s a good ex
34、ercise. You can learn the usage of some words and some phrases as you answer the questions. Step IV Language points and grammar. In this procedure, get students know the meaning of some useful phrases and the sentences with an attributive clause in. T: Let s learn some useful phrases in the unit. 1.

36、er who won the photo competition last time ” . This is a sentence with attributive clause connected by who, and the part “who won the photo competition last time ” modifies“the photographer”. Work in groups to find the same structure in this unit. Sample answers: The one who won the photo competitio

Ask students to report their translation and correct the mistakes if possible. Make sure that everyone has a clear impressio
38、n of the Attributive clause. Step V Pronunciation and speaking Pronunciation Listen to the sentences and read after the recorder, pay much attention to the underlined words. Then say the sentences aloud and make sure that you stress the underlined words. Speaking Ask the students to work in pairs to
