Instead,asmanyas800,000crowdedtheroadstothebridge.Bythetime250,000wereonthebridge,engineersnoticedsomethingterrible:theroadwaywasflatteningunderwhatturnedouttobetheheaviestloadithadeverbeenaskedtocarry.Worse,itwasbeginningtosway(晃動).Theauthoritiesclosedaccesstothebridgeandtensofthousandsofpeoplemadetheirwaybacktoland.Adisasterwasavoided.

Whatisthetext? 星期一A.Itpromotedthesalesofartworks.B.Itattractedalargenumberofvisitors.C.ItshowedancientChineseclothes.D.ItaimedtointroduceChinesemodels.1.WhatcanwelearnabouttheexhibitioninNewYork?

B。A.Theyaresettingthefashion.B.Theystartmanyfashioncampaigns.C.Theyadmiresupermodels.D.Theydobusinessallovertheworld.2.WhatdoesHillsayaboutChinesewomen?A

Chinesemodels…

toitsmovement.” A。A.learningfrom B.lookingdownonC.workingwith D.competingagainst3.Whatdotheunderlinedwords“takingon”inParagraph4mean?D

A.YoungModelsSellingDreamstotheWorldB.AChineseArtExhibitionHeldinNewYorkC.DifferencesBetweenEasternandWesternAestheticsD.ChineseCultureFuelingInternationalFashionTrends4.Whatcanbeasuitabletitleforthetext?D

1.being

2.which

3.finally

4.declared

5.toretire

6.havemade

7.but

因not…but… 8.saying

10.wonderful

其中,選項A中的that指代前文的5-10people,故選A項。3.G

3.loudest

4.looking

由avoiddoingsth可知。5.challenged

6.scientist

7.for

因searchfor(=trytofind尋找)是固定搭配。8.them

9.meant

10.tostay

由allowsbtodosth可知。
