Jim,however,placedthecreditelsewhere.Hisparents,anengineerandaneducator,covertlytutoredhimintraditionalmath.Severalteachers,intheprivacyoftheirownclassrooms,contravenedtheofficialcurriculumtoteachtheproblem-solvingformulasthatconstructivistmathdenigratesasmindlessmemorization.
