Putonglovestoprotectyourhands.

Useseatcoversoavoiddamaginganysurface.

RECEMENTREMOVAL

Removethefollowingitems:

Rearseat.

Rearbulkheadcover.

Cennchorboltofthecenterbelt.

Centerbeltlid(seepageBD-).

Highmountbrakelight(seepageBD-).

Lockcylindertrim(seepageBD-).

Rearshelf(seepageBD-).

Frominsidethevehicle,useaknife(A)tocutthroughthequarterglassadhesive(B)allthewayaround:

Ifthequarterglass(C)istobereinstalled,takecarenottodamagethemolding(D).

Ifthemoldingisdamaged,recethequarterglass,moldingandclips(E)asanassembly.

Ifanyoftheclipsarebrokenthequarterglasscanbereinstalledusingbutyltape(refertostep9).

Applyprotectivetape(F)alongtheedgeoftheentirequarterglassopeningflange.

Carefullyremovethequarterglass,andcheckthemoldingfordamage,andrecethequarterglassifnecessary.

Withaknife,scrapetheoldadhesivesmoothtoathicknessofabout2mm(0.08in.)onthebondingsurfacearoundtheentirequarterglassopeningflange:

Donotscrapedowntothepaintedsurfaceofthebody;damagedpaintwillinterfacewithproperbonding.

Ifanyoftheclipsarebroken,removethemfromthebody.

Maskoffsurroundingsurfacesbeforeapplyingprimer.

CleanthebodybondingsurfacewithaspongedampenedinalcohoAftercleaning,keepoil,greaseandwaterfromgettingontheglasssurface.

Iftheoldquarterglassistobereinstalled,useaputtyknifetoscrapeoffalltracesofoldadhesivefromthequarterglasScrapetheoldadhesivefromthemoldingwithaknife,thencleanthequarterglassandmoldingshadedportionofthewithalcoholwhereadhesiveistobeapplieMakesurethebondingsurfaceiskeptofwater,oilandgrease.

Iftheoldquarterglassistobereinstalled(andeitherclipisbrokenoffthemolding),applyalightcoatofprimer(C-100,orequivalent),thenapplybuty1tapes(A)and

(B)tothemolding(C)asshown.

Becarefulnottotouchthequarterglasswhereadhesivewillbeapplied.

Donotpeeltheseparatoroffthebutyltapes.

Iftheoldquarterglassistobereinstalled(andeitherclipisbrokenoffthemolding),sealthebodyholeswithpiecesofurethape(A).Thensetthequarterglassuprightintheopening,andmakealignmentmarks(B)acrossthequarterglassandbodywithagreasepencilatthethreepointsshowBecarefulnottotouchthequarterglasswhereadhesivewillbeapplied.

Removethequarterglass.

Withasponge,applyalightcoatofglassprimertotheinsidefaceofthequarterglass(A)asshown,thenlightlywipeitoffwithgauzeorcheesecloth:

Donotapplybodyprimertothequarterglass,anddonotgetbodyandglassprimerspongesmixedup.

Nevertouchtheprimedsurfaceswithyourhands,ofyoudotheadhesivemaynotbondtothequarterglassproperly,causingaleakafterthequarterglassisinstalled.

Keepwater,dust,andabrasivematerialsawayfromtheprimedsurface.

1Withasponge,applyalightcoatofbodyprimertotheoriginaladhesiveremainingaroundthequarterglassopeningflangLetthebodyprimerdryforatleast10minutes:

Donotapplyglassprimertothebody,andbecarefulnottomixupglassandbodyprimersponges.

Nevertouchtheprimedsurfaceswithyourhands.

Maskoffthedashboardbeforepaintingtheflange.

1ThoroughlymixtheadhesiveandhardenertogetheronacleanglassormetaltewithaputtyknifFollowtheinstructionsthatcamewiththeadhesive.

1Packadhesiveintothecartridgewithoutairpocketstoensurecontinuousdelivery.Putthecartridgeinacaulkinggun,andrunabeadofadhesive(A)aroundtheedgeofthequarterglass(B)asshown:

Afpplyingtheadhesive,peeltheseparatoroffthebutyltape.

Applytheadhesivewithin30minutesafpplyingtheglassprimeMakeslightlythickerbeadateachcorner.

1Usesuctioncups(A)toholdthequarterglass(B)overtheopeninAligntheclipsorthealignmentmarks(C)madeinstep10,andsetitdownuntilitsedgesarefullyseatedontheadhesiveallthewayarounDonotopenorclosethedoorsuntiltheadhesiveisdry.

1ScrapeorwipetheexcessadhesiveoffwithaputtyknifeortoweToremoveadhesivefromapaintedsurfaceorthequarterglass,wipewithsoftshoptoweldampenedwithalcohol.

1Lettheadhesivedryforatleastonehour,thenspraywateroverthequarterglassandcheckforglassdry,thensealwithsealanLetthevehiclestandforatleastfourhoursafterquarterglassinstallatioIfthevehiclehastobeusedwithinthefirstfourhours,itmustbedrivenslowly.
