1.TeachingObjectives

Enablestudentstolearnandusevocabularyrelatedtodifferentactivitiesandplaces.

Helpstudentsunderstandandusethesimplepasttensetotalkabouttheirpastexperiences.

Developstudents’listening,speaking,reading,andwritingskills.

Encouragestudentstosharetheirschooltripexperiencesandexpresstheiropinions.

2.TeachingProcedures

Step1:Warm-up-Greetthestudentsandleadashortconversationabouttheirrecentactivities.-Askthestudentstosharetheirexperiencesofamemorabletriptheyhavetaken.

Step2:Pre-reading-Introducethenewvocabularywordsrelatedtothetopicofschooltrips.-Writethewordsontheboardandteachthepronunciationandmeaningofeachword.-Conductvocabularyactivitiessuchasmatchingthewordswiththeirmeaningsormakingsentencesusingthewords.

Step3:Readingandlistening-Distributethereadingpassagetothestudentsandaskthemtoreaditsilently.-Playtheaudiorecordingofthepassageforthestudentstolistenandfollowalong.-Askthestudentstoanswerthecomprehensionquestionsanddiscusstheiranswersinpairsorsmallgroups.-Haveabriefclassdiscussiontocheckunderstandingandaddressanyquestionsorareasofconfusion.

Step4:Speaking-Dividethestudentsintopairsorsmallgroupsandaskthemtodiscusstheirownschooltripexperiences.-Encouragethemtoaskeachotherquestionsusingthetargetvocabularyandthesimplepasttense.-Monitorthediscussionsandprovidesupportorfeedbackasnecessary.-Askafewpairsorgroupstosharetheirinterestingexperienceswiththewholeclass.

Step5:Grammarfocus-Introducethesimplepasttenseanditsbasicformsandusage.Useexamplesfromthereadingpassage.-Provideadditionalexamplesandguidethestudentstoformaffirmative,negative,andinterrogativesentencesinthesimplepasttense.-Practicethesimplepasttensebyaskingstudentstocompletesentencesorengageinshortrole-playactivities.

Step6:Vocabularypractice-Conductvocabularyexercisesandgamestoreinforcethenewlylearnedwordsandtheirmeanings.-Useflashcards,matchingexercises,orcharadestomakethepracticeinteractiveandengagingforthestudents.

Step7:Writing-Askthestudentstowriteashortparagraphabouttheirmostmemorableschooltripusingthesimplepasttense.-Remindthemtoincludedetailsanddescribetheirfeelingsandimpressions.-Provideasampleparagraphasamodelforthestudentstofollow.-Collectandassessthestudents’writingassignments,providingfeedbackandsuggestionsforimprovement.

Step8:Reviewandsummary-Summarizethekeypointscoveredinthelesson,includingthevocabulary,grammar,andspeakingactivities.-Addressanyremainingquestionsorareasofconfusionbeforeconcludingthelesson.

3.ExtensionActivities

Prepareaslideshowpresentationwithpicturesofdifferentplacesandactivities,andaskstudentstodescribetheirpreferencesusingthesimplepasttense.

Organizearole-playactivitywherestudentsactastravelagentsandcustomers,usingthetargetvocabularyandthesimplepasttensetodiscusstravelplansandexperiences.

Assignagroupprojectwherestudentscreateaposterorbrochureabouttheirdreamschooltrip,highlightingtheactivitiesandplacestheywouldliketovisit.Theycanpresenttheirprojectstotheclass.

4.Assessment

Regularlymonitorandevaluatestudents’participationandunderstandingduringthevariousactivities.
