授課教師馬愛梅Inthe1980s,socialandpoliticalcircumstancescontinuedtochange,andCanadiansocietyprogressedtowardsamoremulticulturalanddiverseculture.Withethedemiseofliterarynationalisminthe1980s,literarypracticesdiversified,andthereemergedapluralisticaestheticsbehindliteraryrepresentations.Therearethreemajorcharacteristicsthatmaysummarizetheliteraryproductionsincethe1980s.First,Canadianliteraturecometotakeonapluralisticaspectinbothformandcontent.Second,therehasbeenamarkedincreaseinthehistoricalconsequencesaswellaslegaciesofcolonialisminCanada,inahistoricalcontextinwhichCanadiansocietycametobeperceivedmoreandmoreasaninvader-settlersociety.Third,inconnectionwiththegeneralinterestinthecolonialpast,thereemergedaprevalenttrendofnarratinghistoryinfictionalforms.Beginninginthe1980s,manyofthewritersthathadestablishedreputationsinthepreviousdecadescontinuedtopublishmorebooksandthethematicscopeandsocialconcernhadwidenedinthenewpost-nationalistcontext..Manypoetstookinterestinlyricalpoetryinaserialform.Astrongcurrentofhistoriographicalfictionthatcrossesthebordersbetweenhistory,story,andbiographywasclearlyidentifiableinthe1980sIdentity,belongingsandimaginationarethehauntingthemesformanyCanadian-bornethnicwriterswhohavetocometotermswithculturaldisplacementandrelocation.EcologicalconcernsgraduallybecameoneoftheprominenttopicsofCanadianliteraturesincethe1990s.Novelistsalsocametoaddresstheproblemofenvironmentethics,animalsubject,andnaturewithstrongevidenceofarevoltagainsttraditionalanthropocentrism.LiteraryvoicesarebecomingmorepolyphonicasCanada’sculturaldiversitydeepens
