Enable the Ss to use the past participle used as the adverbial freely and properly in writing.學(xué)習(xí)方法: Task-based teaching and learning學(xué)習(xí)內(nèi)容及過程:Step 1 RevisionStep 2 Lead in. In this sentence the past participle is u

3、sed as _.It is a way to join two clauses together. 過去分詞(短語)作狀語,像現(xiàn)在分詞作狀語一樣,修飾謂語動詞,大多是用來進一步說明動作發(fā)生的背景或情況,在意義上相當于狀語從句,表示時間、原因、條件、讓步、方式或伴隨情況等。一過去分詞(短語)作狀語的幾種情況1.作時間狀語,相當于一個 _狀語從句.When asked by the teacher, the little boy kept silent. = When he was asked by the teacher, the little boy kept silent. 2.作原因狀語

4、, 相當于一個 _狀語從句. Moved by the film, many people couldnt help crying. = As/Because _, many people couldnt help crying. Satisfied with what Tom did, the teacher praised him in class.=_,the teacher praised him in class.3.作條件狀語, 相當于一個 _狀語從句. Given more time, we could do it much better.=_, we could do it m

5、uch better.4.作讓步狀語 , 相當于一個 _狀語從句. Warned of the storm, the farmers were still working in the fields.= _, the farmers were still working in the fields.歸納:把過去分詞短語轉(zhuǎn)變?yōu)闋钫Z從句時,該狀語從句應(yīng)該具備兩個特征:1)從句的主語和主句的主語_。2)從句的謂語動詞為_形式。5.作方式或伴隨情況狀語, 相當于一個_。 The young man was busy preparing his paper, locked in his fathers

The old man stood up, _ (support) by his son.= The old man stood up,and he _ (support) by his son.注意:要分析句子結(jié)構(gòu),弄清楚該填 _還是_.二過去分詞作狀語的注意事項(1) 過去分詞作狀語,其邏輯主語通常要與句子的 _ 一致;(2) 過去分詞充當狀語時,其前可加when ,while ,if ,once, unless ,though/although等連詞。If (it is )translated word by word, the passage w

7、ill be difficult to understand. Even if invited , I wont go.=Even if _invited, I wont go. 此時連詞+過去分詞相當于一個含有被動語態(tài)的 _ 。這種帶有連詞的過去分詞通??煽醋魇且环N省略句,省略的部分是_,省略的主語要與_相同。(3) 有些過去分詞及短語來源于系表結(jié)構(gòu),作狀語時并不強調(diào)被動而重在描述主語的狀態(tài)。這樣的過去分詞及短語常見的有:lost(迷路);seated(坐);hidden(躲);lost/absorbed in(沉溺于);dressed in ;tired of; devoted to;Dr

8、essed in a black coat,he looks very handsome.Lost in thought, he didnt notice his mother come in. Devoted to his work,the doctor cares little about any other things.(4)當分詞的邏輯主語與句子的主語不一致時,即分詞有自己獨立的邏輯主語時,要用獨立主格結(jié)構(gòu)(名詞、代詞+doing/ done)或 with 復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)來替代。Her money stolen, she couldnt buy a plane ticket for her

9、 home.The chief was brought in,wih his hands _(tie ) back. 三過去分詞作狀語與現(xiàn)在分詞作狀語的區(qū)別:1. The teacher came into the classroom, _(follow) by two students.The teacher came into the classroom, _(follow) two students.2. _(see) from the top, the stadium looks like a bird nest. _(see) from the space, the astronau

10、t can not discover the Great Wall. 選擇現(xiàn)在分詞還是過去分詞,關(guān)鍵看句子的主語。如分詞的動作是主句的主語發(fā)出,就選用_分詞,反之就用_分詞。5. His parents died, _(leave)him a lot of money.歸納:現(xiàn)在分詞還可以作_狀語,表示 _的結(jié)果。而過去分詞不可以作結(jié)果狀語。Step 4 Practising一Change the following sentences,using the Past Participle as the Adverbial.1.
