DuringTHE followingun dergraduate study, my aeademie reeords kept disti nguished among THE whole departme nt. I was gra nted First Class Prize every semester, and my overall GPA(89.5/10

3、0) ranked No.1 iamo ng 113 stude nts. In 1999, I got THE privilege to en ter THE graduate program waived of THE admission test. I selected THE Shan ghai Jiao Tong Un iversity to continue my study for its best reputatio n on Comb in atorial Optimizatio n and Network Scheduli ng where my research in t

6、iast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. In 1997, I participatedin simulationtooldevelopme nt for THE scheduli ng system in Prof. Wang s lab. With THE tool of Ope nGL and Matlab, I desig ned a simulatio n program for tran sportati on scheduli ng system. It is now widely used

7、 by differe nt research groups in NUST. In 1998, I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatme nt pla nt. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product. In 1999, I joined THE distinguishedProfessorYu-Ge ng Xis research gro

8、up aimi ng at Network flow problem solvi ng and Heuristic algorithm research. Soon I was en gaged in THE FuDa n Gene Database Desig n. My duty was to pick up THE useful information among differentkinds of genematching format. Through THE comparisonand analysis formany heuristic algorithms, I in trod

9、ucedan improvedevoluti onary algorithm - Multi-populati on Gen etic Algorithm. By divid ing a whole populati on into several sub-populati ons, this improved algorithm can effectively preve nt GA from local conv erge nee and promote various evoluti onary orie ntati on s. Itproved more efficie ntly th

10、a n SGA in experime nts, too. I n THE sec ond semester, I joined THE workshop-scheduli ng research in Shanghai Heavy Duty Tyre plant. THE scheduling was designed for THE rubber-makingprocess that covered notonly discrete but also continuous circumstances.To make abalanee point between optimizationqu

11、ality and time cost, Iproposed a Dynamic Layered Scheduling method based on hybrid Petri Nets. THE practical applicati on showed that THE average makespan was shortenedby a large scale. I also publicized two papers in core journ als with this idea. Rece ntly, I am doing research in THE Composite Pre

12、dict of THE Electrical Power system assisted with THE tech no logy of Data Mining for Bao Steel. I try to combi ne THE Decisi on Tree with Recedi ng Optimization to provide a new solution for THE CompositePredictive Problem. This project is now un der con structi on.Besides, In July 2000, I got THE

13、opport unity to give a lecture in En glish in Asia Con trol Conference (ASCC) which is one of THE top-level conferences among THE world in THE area of con trol and automati on. In my senior year, I met Prof.Xiao-SongLin, a visiting professor of maTHEmatics fromUni versity of Califor ni a-Riverside,

14、I lear ned graph THEory fromhim for my network research. THEse experiences all rapidlyexpa nded my kno wledge of En glish and THE un dersta nding ofwester n culture.I hope to study in depth  In retrospect, I find myself standingon a solidbasis in both THEory and experie nee, which has prepared me for THE Ph.D. program.
