As an English woman writer between 18th century and 19th century, although the writing range of Jane Austen is not wide enough, she makes the structure of her novels delicate by the characteristic carefulne

It has some function of following some traditions and sticking them to the later time.She was unmarried in her lifetime.The story revolves around the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne. Elinor , the eldest daughter , who had a great deal intelligence and common sense .She had ex

4、cellent heart ,full of affection ,and although her feelings were strong ,she knew how to control them. Marianne was, like Elinor generous, clever, and sensitive, but unlike Elinor, she was eager in everything; her feelings were always strongly felt and expressed. Her greatest preoccupation was roman

5、ce.After Mr. Dashwood s death, Miss Dashwooh and her daughters were turn out of their manor by her son-in-law. They have to move to a villa, before thatElinor was fall in loved with Edward, who is her sister-in-lawbrother,s agentlemanly and pleasing young man. Edward Ferrars was not handsome, nor we

6、re his manners especially pleasing at first sight, but when he lost his shyness, his behavior, showed what an open, affectionate heart he had.On other side,the Colonel Brandon was totally attract by Marianne ,butMarianne didnlovetreturn ,she was preoccupation ofthe man whohaveunusually handsome appe

He fooled Marianne s feelings, the truth almost drove her crazy, and she can not believe that Willoughby was a love-rat.The love road behind Elinor and Edwaed was tough as the same. Edward had engaged when he was young and have no idea about lov

8、e. Then, he met Elinor and knew what love mean is. Elinor was very sad, but as her usually was, controlled her emotion with sense, and pretended nothing happened.It was a long time for Marianne to forget the pain, at that time she fond the Colonel still love her. She was touched by his love.It was s

9、urprised that Edward have the courage to break off his engagement. Leave out the inheritance and prefer to live a simple life with his beloved Elinor.Against all odds, Elinor got married to Edward. At the age of seventeen she had believed that passionate feeling was the most important thing in life.

Then at nineteen, with feelings of only warm friendship and respect, ,she agreed to marry a man she had once considered dull, and far too marriage, and came in time to love her husband as much as she had loved Willoughby. That is the happy ending.love was so beautiful,but life was more than love ,it needed sensibility.We need the ability to judge, to distinguish.
