4、ly adv. 無禮地,粗魯?shù)卣n文詳注  Further notes on the text1Last week I went to the theatre.上星期我去看戲。(1)句首的“Last week”點明敘述的事情發(fā)生的時間是上星期。因此整篇課文的時態(tài)基本上應(yīng)是過去時(包括過去進行時),直接引語部分的時態(tài)除外。(2) 動詞go的原義是離開一個地方去另一個地方,與介詞to連用后,常加上主語所要去的目的地來代表主語的動作目的。課文中g(shù)o to the theatre = go to the theatre to see a play,即去劇場看戲。類似的還有g(shù)o to the c

5、inema = go to the cinema to see a film(去電影院看電影)。這種表達方式簡明扼要。請注意在以下的短語中名詞前通常不加冠詞:go to school上學(xué)go to bed上床,睡覺go to church上教堂,去做禮拜go to hospital(醫(yī)院) 去看??;go home(跟home相連一定表示沒有事情可做回家休息)I am at home. 在家休息go to the +地點 表示去某地干嘛go to the theatre = go to the theatre to see a play去劇場看戲 (theater美式)go to the cin

7、en, please? vt. 使就坐結(jié)構(gòu):seat oneself 常用be seated形式。We were seated at the table. All of us were seated around the table and Aunt Pat served spaghetti for supper.3The play was very interesting. 戲很有意思。interesting屬于現(xiàn)在分詞形式的形容詞,意思是“使人感興趣”。它通常與非人稱主語連用或修飾某個事物:This is an interesting book/idea. 這是一本有趣的書一個令人感興趣的

I did not enjoy it. 但我卻無法欣賞.enjoy vt. 欣賞,享受,喜愛 后面的賓語為名詞、代詞、動名詞 enjoy +

10、g man and a young woman were sitting behind me. 坐在我的身后,were sitting 過去進行時,交待故事發(fā)生的背景e.g. One night, I was reading in my study, suddenly a man broke into my house.behind 在的后面在之前 in front ofI was sitting in front of a young man and a young woman.in the front of 在的前面(內(nèi)部的前面),in front of 在外部的前面e.g. He is

11、sitting in the front of the bus.我坐在汽車的前面(內(nèi)部的前面)。這間屋子前面有棵樹。There is a tree in front of the room.ahead 在前面,動態(tài)的,兩個比較的東西至少有一個是動的,in front of 靜止的“在前面”。e.g. He went ahead of me.6. They were talking loudly. 大聲地說著話。主語+謂語+方式狀語They were talking aloud.(loudly = aloud)consideratea. 體諒人的反義詞:inconsiderate不體諒人的7I

12、got very angry. 我非常生氣。get在這里有“逐漸變得”的含義,接近become,是個表示過程的動詞,表示狀態(tài)的變化, 后面加形容詞。而I was very angry則僅表示當(dāng)時的狀態(tài)是生氣,并不暗示過程。got取代be動詞,got是一個半聯(lián)系動詞,可以直接加形容詞。Link v.get angry get 做系動詞,意思為“變得”,比較 I am (was) angry. 與 I got angry.I am (was) angry. 我很生氣,表狀態(tài)I got angry. 我變得很生氣,表示從不生氣到生氣的轉(zhuǎn)變過程。表示變得,除了get,還可以用turn, become.

15、n't catch your words.I couldn't hear you clearly./I couldn't catch your words.Beg your pardon? /I couldn't catch your words.round 和around的意思相近,但用法不完全相同. 我把它們的異同解釋如下: 1. 在表示"圓形運轉(zhuǎn),回到原處", "環(huán)繞","周圍"時,英語用round,但美國人用around, 例如: The earth revolves round(around)

16、the sun(地球繞太陽運行). They sat round(around)the table.(他們圍著桌子而坐) New things are happening all round(around) us(新事物在我們周圍不斷發(fā)生) There is a small restaurant round(around)the corner(繞過街角有一家小餐館). 2. 美國人以及部分英國人也常用around表示"到處","無目的地","附近","左右"等較為模糊的概念, 例如 The news that Pr

17、esident Clinton was coming spread rapidly around the campus(Clinton 總統(tǒng)就要到來的消息很快地就在校園里傳開啦) 3. around 還可以表示"不止一處","在許多地方","在不同地方". 但在美國英語里,一般只用around, 例如: The students are standing around(學(xué)生們在到處站著) They are rushing around in New York.(他們在New York到處奔波). 10. They did not pa

22、 business指某人(所關(guān)心的或份內(nèi))的事:It's none of your business./None of your business./It's my business. 不關(guān)你的事。It is my business to look after your health. 我必須照顧你的身體健康。This is none of his business. 這根本不關(guān)他的事。(2)表示否定的代詞none意義上相當(dāng)于not any或no one,但語氣較強:She kept none of his letters. 他的信件她一封也沒有保留。None of my fr

23、iends left early. 我的朋友沒有一個早離開的。none of 這個短語有時可以表達一種斷然、甚至粗暴的口氣,尤其是在祈使句中:None of your silly remarks! 別說傻話了!none of your business 關(guān)你什么事?(較粗魯,不適宜對長輩、領(lǐng)導(dǎo)說)rude 粗魯?shù)?不禮貌的 impolite反義詞:polite 禮貌的14a private conversation,私人間的談話。在西方文化中人們對private(私人的,個人的)這個概念很看重。這個詞的名詞形式privacy有“隱私(權(quán))”的意思。所以課文中的小伙子會振振有詞地說“This i

24、s a private conversation!”不過他忘了他是在一個public place(公眾場合),而且他們的說話聲太大,已經(jīng)影響了別人。詞匯學(xué)習(xí) Word study1pay(1)vt., vi.支付(價款等): Have you paid the taxi-driver?你給出租車司機錢了嗎? In the end, 1 could not bear it. 最后,我忍不住了。Key structures 關(guān)鍵句型 Word Order in Simple Statements 簡單陳述句的語序簡單陳述句的語序一般為:主語一般為名詞、代詞或名詞短語,通常位于動詞之前。動詞必須與主語“一致”,所以主語決定動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)形式(如I am, you are

27、, he has)。賓語一般為名詞、代詞或名詞短語。在主動句中,賓語一般位于動詞之后。一個句子不總需要有賓語。狀語的位置比較靈活。當(dāng)一個句子里有一種以上的副詞時,地點副詞的一般位置是在方式副詞之后、時間副詞之前,如上面的最后一個例句。時間狀語可以在句尾,也可以在句首:Last night Lucy went to the theatre. 昨晚露西去劇院看戲了。I heard a voice at the door just now. 我剛才聽到門口有聲音。Sam listened to the story quietly. 薩姆靜靜地聽著故事。The man ran away quickly

28、. 那人很快跑掉了。(無賓語)a. A statement tells us about something. All the sentences in the passage are statements. Each of these state-ments contains one idea. Each statement tells us about one thing. A statement that tells us about one thing is a simple statement 陳述句用來敘述一件事情。本段課文中的所有句子都是陳述句。每個句子包含著一個概念,告訴我們一

29、件事情。凡是敘述一件事情的陳述句都是簡單陳述句。b. The order of the words in a statement is very important. Look at these two statements.
