1、Good morning, everyone!Im glad to be here to talk about my teaching design. My topic is about Part A of Unit 2, My Days of the Week , which is from PEP Primary School English Book for grade five .There are five parts in my teaching design , they are about the teaching material and students, teaching
2、 aims, important and difficult points, teaching methods and the Teaching procedures.Part 1 The Teaching Material and studentsThis lesson is the second one of Unit2.In the first period the Ss have learned the words about weekdays, and have reviewed some words about subjects, Ss in grade five also hav
3、e some basic English knowledge, so it's easier for them to have further study.Part 2 Teaching aimsThere are three points in my teaching aims : the aims of knowledge , the aims of ability and the aims of emotion .(1)The aims of knowledge is to make Ss to master key sentences: What day is it today
4、? What do you have on Mondays? We have ;I like(2)The aims of ability are to improve their ability of listening and speaking. (3) The aims of emotionEncourage the Ss to have good cooperation with each other, help each other and learn from each other.Part3 Important and difficult pointsThe important p
5、oint is to master the key sentences, and to make a dialogue according to the new sentence pattern is difficult point.Part 4Teaching methodsIn this lesson Ill mainly use “communicative teaching” and “task based” methods. And I also need the tape, cards, pictures, multi-media, some words good, super t
6、o praise Ss, and some card of the subjects to asses all the Ss activities, Ss can choose their favourite subjects, and put it after their groups.Part 5 Teaching proceduresI divide this big part into four steps: 5 minutes for warming up and revision, 20 minutes for presentation and practice, 10 minut
7、es for consolidation and 5 minutes for summary and homework. Step 1 Warming up and Revision In order to review the old lesson and to make ready for the new lesson, I design two activities, First I will show cards of weekday, ask Ss: What day is it today? Then change another group of cards about subj
8、ects, and ask Ss: What do we have on Mondays? -We have math. Second, chant with the tape.Monday, Monday, math on Monday.Tuesday, Tuesday, art on Tuesday!Wednesday, Wednesday,Computers on Wednesday.Thursday, Thursday, P.E on Thursday.Friday, Friday, my favourite day! The chant can active the happy at
9、mosphere in my class.Step 2 Presentation and PracticeFirst I create a situation to present the new dialogue, it can arouse their interests of learning English.Ill introduce two new friends to Ss, Amy and Amys mother. Amy is asking her mother: What day is it today? And her mother also asking her: Wha
10、t do you have on Wednesdays? Listen to the tape and answer the two questions. After listen to the tape, the Ss answer the two questions :Its Wednesday. We have English science, computer and PE. I like Wednesdays. Students will have general idea of the main dialogue, listening to the tape is very imp
11、ortant for students to promote their listening and speaking skills.Because this sentence is too long , so I design another activity to make it easier. Ill show four cards of subject: music, P.E, math and English ,ask four Ss come to the front and each one holds one card, the teacher points to the ca
12、rds and rest of Ss to make sentences :We have music, we have P.E, we have math, we have English. At last put these sentences together: We have music, P.E, math and English.Second I will ask Ss open their books, read after the tape, then read in pairs, read groups, at last act the dialogue.Step 3 Con
13、solidation 1. Teacher point to the timetable, and make a dialogue such as : What day is it today?-Its Tuesday. What do you have on Tuesdays?-I have math, P.E, music and computer. Give Ss two minutes to practice ,then ask two or three pairs come to the front, talk about the timetable.In this activity
14、, Ss are expected to use what theyve learnt fluently .Their listening and speaking ability will be further improved.2. Give out the timetable to group leaders, and make a survey in each group, with the key sentences: we have I like. Then group leaders will report, like: In my group, Mary likes Monda
15、ys and Fridays, because she likes P.E and music.Task-based teaching method is used here to develop Ss ability of communication and co-operation .Step 4 Summary and HomeworkBefore the class is over, I will ask Ss to summarize the key sentences in this dialogue ,and I design two kinds of homework list
16、en to the tape, read after it, and write sentences about what day they like and why. The summary and homework not only let Ss to consolidate the knowledge, but also extent the knowledge from the classroom to their daily life. Step5 Blackboard DesignUnit2 My days of the WeekA: What day is it today? B: Its A: What do we have on Wednesdays? B: We have. I like.The blackboard is very clear for students to read, and very beautiful in Ss eyes, dont you think so?In my teaching design, I think I can reach my teaching aims ,but there are some weak points in the lesson, for example , I should pay more a
