2、ow spirits. Britney is watching cartoon in another room. Eric is just back home from work.)Eric (taking off his jacket): Hi, Jenny. Im back.(Jenny says nothing indifferently.)(Eric is a little surprised) Oh. Is the supper ready?Jenny (coldly): No.Eric (gently walking towards to Jenny and sits beside

3、 her): Okay, Jenny. Whats wrong with you?Jenny（pause for a while）: I just feel very tired. IEric: Then get some rest, Jenny. Jenny (impatiently): No, erI mean I feel tired of my life here. I want to changeEric ( surprisedly and curiously ): What has happened ? Did you meet anybody today?Jenny : No.

4、I just feel that I have not lived happily and decently since I married you.(pause for a while) Just look at this small house we are living in! Old and shabby! Also, it is very far from my workplace. I have to get up very early every morning to catch the crowded and stuffy subway to work ,(pause, the

5、n more loudly) for these seven years! ( nearly loses her voice) Seven years! (Jenny buries her head in her hands and sobs.)Eric (weakly and calmly): Im sorry, Jenny. (pause) But everything will go better. I promise you, I will make you live a better life.Jenny: You had promised me that before we mar

6、ried. It is always easier to make a promise, (look up to Eric coldly) than to carry out it, isnt it? Eric: There is a good chance that I will be promoted and get a higher salary. She comes to her daughter Britneys bedroom and says goodbye to her the last night before she goes.Act 2(

9、The scene is set in Britneys bedroom at the night before Jenny goes. Jenny opens Britneys room door. Britney is still up sitting in the bed with a toy bear in her arms.)Jenny: Hi, honey. Are you sleepy?Britney : No, mom. I am not sleepy now. Do you really want to go somewhere else tomorrow?Jenny(mov

We are a family and should not be separated.Jenny (gives a shadow of smile): Honey, I have to. But Im sure I will come back to see you I promise. (Jenny gives a big hug to Britney and kisses her f

11、orehead.)Britney: Mom, I have one thing for you. (She reaches under the pillow, takes out something wrapped in a handkerchief and unfolds it.) This is one of my teeth. It fell out yesterday. Now I give it to you. (Britney passes the tooth to Jenny.)Jenny: Okay, Ill keep it.Britney: Here is a saying.

Jenny is having a conversation with the Check-in attendant.)Check-in attendant: Hello, where are you traveling to?Jenny: Los Angeles.Check-in attendant: Can I see your passport please? (Jenny
