But sometimes these can get in the way of their schoolwork, and parents might worry about their su ess at school. Teenagers often think they should be allowed to practice their hobbies as much as they want.
9、 Do you agree? Liu Yu, a fifteen-year-old boy from Shandong, is a running star. He is on his school team and has always wanted to be a professional runner when he grows up. However, his parents wont allow him to train so much. “Of course we want to see him achieve his dreams,” says Mr. Liu. “And we
10、know how much he loves running. My wife and I have supported every one of his races. We have nothing against running! But we think our son needs to think about other possible jobs. Hes getting older now, so he needs to think about what will happen if he doesnt end up a professional runner.”Liu Yu do

16、他的新書獲得了巨大的成功。see sb. do sth.“看見了某人做某事“,強(qiáng)調(diào)看見動(dòng)作發(fā)生的全過程。see sb. doing sth. “看見某人正在做某事”,不是全過程,表示看到的動(dòng)作正在進(jìn)行。see sb. do sth. 與 see sb. doing sth.e.g. I saw it happen when I passed by last night. 昨天晚上路過的時(shí)候我看到發(fā)生了這件事。 (強(qiáng)調(diào)看到事情從開始到結(jié)束的整個(gè)過程) I saw him playing the game on the puter yesterday evening. 昨天晚上我看到他在電腦上玩游
17、戲。 (強(qiáng)調(diào)看到的時(shí)候正在玩) see sb. do sth. 意為“看到某人做了某事”。 e.g. I saw her run into the room. 我看見她跑進(jìn)了房間。 Of course we want to see him achieve his dreams 我們當(dāng)然想看到他實(shí)現(xiàn)他的夢想2support 此處用作及物動(dòng)詞,意為“支持;援助;支助” ,常用短語support sb. with sth., 意為“用某物支持某人”。 e.g. He promised to support her with 1,000 yuan. 他答應(yīng)贊助她一千元。(2) 用作不可數(shù)名詞,意為“支
18、持;資助”。 e.g.We couldnt win the match without their support. 沒有他們的支持我們是不會(huì)贏得這場比賽的。 My wife and I have supported every one of his races.我和我的妻子支持他的每一場比賽。3 against 介詞,此處意為“反對”,其反義詞為for,意為“支持”,其后可接名詞、代詞或動(dòng)詞-ing形式。e.g.We are for peace and against war. 我們支持和平,反對戰(zhàn)爭。e.g. Im against doing anything till the polic
19、e arrive. 我反對在警察到達(dá)之前采取任何行動(dòng)。We have nothing against running! 我們不反對賽跑!4(1) 本句為主從復(fù)合句。賓語從句中含有how引導(dǎo)的感嘆句。感嘆句中it 為形式主語,其真正的主語是“to work hard at school and enter university”。e.g.I think how easy it is to speak English. 我認(rèn)為說英語是多么的容易。 My parents have always taught me how important it is to work hard at school
20、and enter university. 我父母總是教導(dǎo)我在學(xué)校努 力學(xué)習(xí)并考上大學(xué)是多么重要。5(2) enter (to e or to go into) 意為“進(jìn)來;進(jìn)去”,既可用作及物動(dòng)詞也可用為不及物動(dòng)詞。e.g.Someone entered the room behind me. 有人跟著我進(jìn)入了房間。 Knock before you enter. 進(jìn)來先敲門。拓展:enter 作為動(dòng)詞還可意為“參加”。e.g.We entered the contest. 我們參加了比賽。e.g.What influenced you when you made your choice?

I think I should be allowed to make this choice myself. 我認(rèn)為應(yīng)該允許我自己做這個(gè)選擇。6 choice 可數(shù)名詞,意為“選擇;挑選”,其動(dòng)詞形式為choose。make a choice 意為“做出選擇”。 have no choice but to do sth. 意為“除了做某事以外,別無選擇”或“只好做某事”。e.g.He has no choice but to go with them. 他別無選擇,只好跟他們?nèi)?。拓展本句是only引起的倒裝句,即“Only+狀語+助動(dòng)詞、be動(dòng)詞、情態(tài)動(dòng)詞+主語
