一、找準(zhǔn)主題,集中突破

一個好的主題,通常都是采納滴水映海洋,粒沙藏世界的手法。從一滴水里能看到大海的樣子,從一粒沙中能呈現(xiàn)整個世界,這是多么地不簡單呀!但是,好主題通常就是這樣表達(dá)出來的。每位GRE作文考友專業(yè)背景、預(yù)備時間與英語基礎(chǔ)各不一樣,在作文中面臨的問題當(dāng)然也不一樣:有些是語言和思想都很精彩,有些是有思想但表達(dá)不出來,有些是英語好但思路打不開,一個作文小組只有幾個人或者十幾個人,就能夠看出這些差別來,用一種統(tǒng)一的方法來進(jìn)行預(yù)備,未必對每個人都意味著高效率。

二、避開低效率低水平

寫作力量很強(qiáng)的同學(xué),通常的一件事會把握怎樣寫,如何寫,哪些該祥,哪些該略,哪些該修飾,哪些該平白,駕馭文字的功夫很是了得。文采不是每個人天生就有的,它是一個逐步積累、逐步升華、逐步成熟的過程,需要去大量閱讀、長期積累、心靈感悟、凝練提取的再制造本事,這要在日常學(xué)習(xí)中逐步提高,許多GRE作文考友干勁十足,一天一篇issue或者argument,但假如基本問題不解決而沉溺于題海戰(zhàn)術(shù)中,往往是事倍功半。即使GRE作文考友關(guān)心你修改得很好,但你并不能透徹了解自己語法或者思維方式錯誤的根源在哪里,那就只能寄盼望于把每一篇改過的都背下來然后在考試時碰上。假如記得不牢或者根本沒碰上,問題就大了。我喜愛實踐-理論-實踐這種螺旋式的進(jìn)步方法,先找到問題,然后有針對性地進(jìn)行系統(tǒng)性的學(xué)習(xí),打好基礎(chǔ);感覺有提高了再來實踐,再發(fā)覺問題再提高。

三、重點(diǎn)預(yù)備GRE作文提綱

這一點(diǎn)是承接其次點(diǎn)的。題海戰(zhàn)術(shù)有兩個問題:一是沒有解決根本問題,二是機(jī)會成本過高。所謂機(jī)會成本,就是你花的時間過多,而這些時間原來可以用來做更有意義的事情,比如說記單詞,學(xué)習(xí)語法或者看書開拓思路。設(shè)想你英文很差,但你寫作很努力,在考試時又碰上了寫過的題目,你的作文得了5分以上,但verbal只有300多分,人家一眼就能看出你的真實水平來。所以我覺得在打基礎(chǔ)的同時,要把重點(diǎn)放在提綱也就是思路的預(yù)備上。

四、選擇性地練習(xí)實戰(zhàn)寫作

試想一下,假如你在考試時面對題目,最可能使你心慌的是什么?那可能就是這道題沒見過,不知從哪下手;假如你想過了,即使你沒寫過,你也不會太緊急。我備考時只寫了兩篇issue和兩篇argument,時間主要花在熟識題目上,argument看得少一些,issue看了一半左右,有點(diǎn)輕敵了,假如全看的話就會更鎮(zhèn)靜。
