英語中的常用交際套語

英語中的常用交際套語不同文化有著不同的語言習(xí)慣，口譯譯員在處理交際套語時尤其需要注意符合習(xí)慣用法，方才顯的自然得體、彬彬有禮，否則讓人聽起來就會顯得生硬粗魯，甚至產(chǎn)生誤解和不快。下面就舉一些典型套語的譯法：1，參觀或者會談等場合，常聽見中方的人說“請多提寶貴意見?！比魧ξ鞣饺酥弊g為：“Pleasegiveusyourvaluablecomments."，問題就來了，他們會認(rèn)為你在暗示他們：你的意見應(yīng)該是valuable的，不寶貴的意見請免開尊口。正確的譯法是：“Pleasegiveusyourcomments."或“Wewelcomeyourcomments.“怎么樣，今天就談到這里吧？“生硬、突然的說法：Well,shallwestopherefortoday?地道的習(xí)慣用語：Thankyoufor Shallwecallitaday?“今天的菜不好，請多多包涵。”在英語國家的人看來，這種自謙客套的說法反而顯得太牽強附會，況且請客總希望客人吃的好，否則，既然菜不好，為什么還拿來請客？故不宜直譯為：Pardonmeforthepoorfoodstoday若用餐開始講這句話，英語應(yīng)說：Bonappetite,或者Enjoyyourself若用餐完畢講這句話，應(yīng)該說：Hopeyou'veenjoyedyourself.這樣才與此情景相吻合?！斑@是區(qū)區(qū)薄禮，不成敬意”。這是我們中國人為了表示禮貌客氣的一句客套話，有時禮品并非“薄禮”也這么說；而英美人的思維習(xí)慣卻是：這是專門為你準(zhǔn)備的禮品，希望你喜歡。所以這句不妨這樣說：Thisisagiftforyourmemory.Hopeyoulikeit.“你每月掙多少錢？”這恐怕是令人最忌諱的私人問題了，太敏感了，最好別問。若非要表達(dá)這個意思，應(yīng)該把問題變?yōu)殚g接問題，不針對個人。若對方是銷售經(jīng)理，可以說：Abouthowmuchdoseasalemanagermakeayear？在口譯當(dāng)中，除了要注意這些習(xí)慣差異以外，英語也有著不能單憑字面意思去理解的豐富的口語習(xí)慣詞匯。比如:“Thisevening,ifyouhavetime,wecangotothemovietogether.”“Well,Iwillplayitbyear!”“playitbyear”直譯為“用耳朵來彈奏”？當(dāng)然不是！這里的“)layitbyear”英文原意是：todecidesth.atthemomentyouneedtoandnotbefore因而這里意思可理解為：“今晚如果有空，你可以和我們一塊去看電影。”“到時候再說吧!”慶祝中華人民共和國成立四十五周年招待會ReceptionCelebratingthe45thAnniversaryoftheFoundingofthePeoplesRepublicofChina雞尾酒會cocktailparty
