Theevaluationofchildren’spsychologicalandbehavioralproblemsisessentialinidentifyingandaddressingtheirneeds.Professionalsworkingwithchildrenmustassesstheirmentalhealthandbehaviortogainabetterunderstandingofthechild,identifytheproblemareas,anddevelopeffectiveinterventionstrategies.OneofthemostwidelyusedassessmenttoolsistheAchenbach'sChildBehaviorChecklist(CBCL).Thispaperdiscussestheevaluationtoolanditssignificanceinassessingchildren'smentalhealthandbehavior.

Achenbach'sChildBehaviorChecklist(CBCL)

TheAchenbach'sCBCLisawidelyusedassessmenttoolfortheevaluationofchildren'smentalhealthandbehavioralissues.Thechecklistisastandardizedquestionnairethatisbasedonparents'ratingsoftheirchildren'sbehavior.Itisusedtoassessemotionalandbehavioralissuesinchildrenaged6-18years.TheCBCLprovidesinformationaboutthechild'spresentbehavioral,emotional,andsocialfunctioning.
