Someman-madechemicals,endocrine(內分泌)disruptorslikephthalates(酞酸鹽)andnonylphenol-abreakdownproductofspermicides(殺精子劑),cosmeticsanddetergents-areblamedforcausingchangesinthegenitals,ofsomeanimals.Affectedspeciesincludepolarbears-sonoteventheArcticisimmune.Andthechemicalsclimbthefoodchain,fromfishtomammals,andtous.
