5.1Standardenvironmentalconditionsformeasurements
Measurementsshallbecarriedoutunderstandardenvironmentalconditionsatatemperatureof25°C±3°℃,atarelativehumidityof25%to85%,andatanairpressureof86kPato106kPa.Whendifferentenvironmentalconditionsareused,theyshallbenotedinthereport.
5.2Standarddarkroomconditionsformeasurements
Theluminancecontributionfromunwantedbackgroundilluminationreflectedoffthetestdisplayshallbelessthan1/20ofthedisplay'sblackstateluminance.Iftheseconditionsarenotsatisfied,thenbackgroundsubtractionisrequiredanditshallbenotedinthetestreport.Inaddition,ifthesensitivityoftheLMDisinadequatetomeasure1/20oftheblacklevel,thenthelowerlimitoftheLMDshallbenotedinthetestreport.

5.3Standardsetupconditions
5.3.1General
Standardsetupconditionsaregivenbelow.Anydeviationsfromtheseconditionsshallberecorded
5.3.2AdjustmentofOLEDdisplaymodules
Thedisplayshallbemeasuredatitsfactorydefaultsettings.Ifothersettingsareused,theyshallbenotedinthetestreport.Thesesettingsshallbeheldconstantforallmeasurements,unlessstatedotherwise.Itisimportant,however,tomakesurethatnotonlytheadjustmentsarekeptconstant,butalsothattheresultingphysicalquantitiesremainconstantduringthemeasurement.Thisisnotautomaticallythecasebecauseof,forexample,warm-upeffects.
5.3.3Startingconditionsofmeasurements
MeasurementsshallbestartedaftertheOLEDdisplayandthemeasuringinstrumentsachievestability.Itisrecommendedthat,whenthedisplayisfirstturnedon,itbeoperatedforatleast30minwithaloopofcolourpatternsrenderedonthescreen.Sufficientwarm-uptimehasbeenachievedwhentheluminanceofthetestfeaturetobemeasuredvariesbylessthan±3%overtheentiremeasurementmethodforagivendisplayimage.
5.3.4Measuringequipmentrequirements
Generalconditions
Lightmeasurementsshallgenerallybemeasuredintermsofphotometricorcolorimetricunits
measuredbyaphotometer,andCIEtristimulusvalues(X,Y,Z)orCIEchromaticity
foraCIE1931standardcolorimetricobserverasdefinedinCIES014-1.Luminancecanbe
colorimetricvaluesthroughanumericalconversionofthemeasuredspectralradiancedata
(seeforexample[1]1).Non-contactLMD,wheretheLMDisnotindirectcontactwiththe
screen,shallbeusedwithoutanilluminationsource.Thefollowingrequirementsaregivenfor
theseinstruments:
a)TheLMDshallbealuminancemeter,acolorimeter,oraspectroradiometer.Thespectroradiometershallbecapableofmeasuringspectralradianceoveratleastthe380nmto780nmspectralrange,withamaximumbandwidthof10nmforsmoothbroadbandspectra.ForOLEDprimarieswithbandwidth≤25nm,themaximumbandwidthshallbe≤5nm.Thespectralbandwidthofthespectroradiometershallbeanintegermultipleofthesamplinginterval.Forexample,a5nmsamplingintervalcanbeusedfora5nmor10nmbandwidth.
CareshallbetakentoensurethattheLMDhasenoughsensitivityanddynamicrangetoperformtherequiredtask.ThemeasuredLMDsignalshallbeatleasttentimesgreaterthanthedarklevel(noisefloor)oftheLMD,andnogreaterthan85%ofthesaturationlevel.
b)TheLMDshallbefocusedontheimageplaneofthedisplayandgenerallyalignedperpendiculartothedisplaysurfaceatthecentreofthemeasurementfield,unlessstatedotherwise.
c)Therelativeuncertaintyandrepeatabilityofallthemeasuringdevicesshallbemaintainedbyfollowingtheinstrumentsupplier'srecommendedcalibrationschedule.
d)TheLMDintegrationtimeshallbeanintegernumberofframeperiods,synchronizedto
theframerate,ortheintegrationtimeshallbegreaterthanonehundredframeperiods.

e)IfLMDmeasurementsaretakenfordisplayswithimpulsedrivingordutydriving,thehighpeakluminanceofthesedisplayscancausedetectorsaturationerrors.Theaccuracyofthesemeasurementscanbecheckedbyattenuatingthelightwithaneutral-densityfilter.Ifthechangeinsignalamplitudeofthedetectorisproportionaltothetransmittanceoftheneutral-densityfilter,thentherearenodetectorsaturationerrors.Thismethodisformeasuringthemaximumtime-averagedfull-screenluminance.
WhenusingLMDs,straylightwithintheLMD(e.g.lensflare,veilingglare)andnon-uniformitiesofsensitivityacrossthedetectorareashouldbeconsidered.
InadditiontoLMDsthatformanaveragevalueforthemeasuredquantityoverthemeasurementfieldunderconsideration(i.e.spotphotometers,Figure1),thereareimagingLMDswhichgiveavalue(oranarrayofvalues,e.g.R,GandB)foreachindividualarea-elementontheDUT.SuchLMDscanreplaceasequentialmechanicalscanofthesurfaceofadisplaybyanimageoftheentireactiveareaoftheDUT,andasubsequentevaluationofthedata.
WhenimagingLMDsareused,aflat-fieldcorrectionshallbeappliedtotheLMDatthemeasuringdistance.
