4、f the poem is orderly and vivid for it has various changes: abba abba cde cde. This poem can be regarded as the ode of nature. By describing the music of grasshopper in summer and the song of cricket in winter, it presents the theme that the music of nature lasts forever. The poem pays more attentio

5、n to create the atmosphere. For instance, the integration of movement and stillness makes the scene lively. “The new-mown mead”, “birds are faint with the hot sun” and “hide in cooling trees” show that summer is full of vigour and they also embody the beauty of the music of grasshopper in summer. “I

6、n summer luxury,he has never done/ With his delights; for when tired out with fun/ He rests at ease beneath some pleasant weed.” It mainly expresses great happiness. At the second verse, the poem presents a lonely and cold winter with a warm atmosphere among people highlight the pleasant songs of cr

7、ickets in winter. By praising the beauty of relatively unbeautiful seasons and common insects, the poet wants to show that nature is ever beautiful. This poem mainly uses the device of personification. For instance,“ With his delights; for when tired out with fun/ He rests at ease beneath some pleas

8、ant weed.” Here, grasshopper is regarded as a person. He can also feel delight and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of summer day. “The Cricket's song, in warmth increasing ever,/And seems to one in drowsiness half lost”, it suggests that cricket can sings and the beauty of its song. Besides, the poem also makes a contrast between the first verse and the second one: summer to winter. In con
