3、eofusandforthisnationaswell.Thoughitisonlywithinmypowertotellaboutmypersonale*perience,andonlyatinyfragmentofitatthat,itstillrepresents,Ibelieve,therootofaspiritwhichhasbeenessentialtomeandtoallthepeoplebredbythepast15years.Inmyelementaryyears,therewasalittlegirlintheclasswhoworkedveryhardbutsomehow

4、couldneverdosatisfactorilyinherlessons.Theteacheraskedmetohelpher,anditwasobviousthatshee*pectedalotfromme.butasayoungboy,restless,thoughtless,Ialwaystriedtoevadehersoastogetmoretimetoenjoymyself.Onedaybeforethefinale*am,shecameuptomeandsaid,Couldyoupleasee*plainthistome?Iwantverymuchtodobetterthist

5、ime.Istartede*plaining,andfinishedinahurry.Pretendingnottonoticeherstillconfusedeyes,Iranoffquickly.Natsurprisingly,sheagaindidverybadlyinthee*am.Andtwomonthslater,atthebeginningofthenewsemester,wordcameofherdeathofbloodcancer.NooneeverknewaboutthelittletaskIfailedtofulfill,butIcouldntforgivemyself.

7、gantounderstandthewordresponsibilityandtolearntoalwaysdomydutiesfaithfullyanddevotedly,fortheimplicationsofthatsacredwordhasdawnedonme:themutualneedandtrustofpeople,theco-operationandinter-reliancewhicharetheveryfoundationofhumansociety.Laterinmylife,Icontinuedtoe*periencemanyfailures.Butneveragaind

8、idIfeelthatregretwhichstruckmeatthedeathofthegirl,foritmakesmyheartsatisfiedtothinkthatIhavealwaysdoneeverythinginmypowertofulfillmyresponsibilitiesasbestIcan.AsIgrewup,changedandimprovedbythisincidentandmanyothersimilarones,Ibegantoperceivethechangestakingplacearoundmeandtofindthatsociety,inaway,wa

9、sinitsformativeyearslikemyself.Newbuildings,newcommoditiesandnewfashionsappeareveryday.Newideas,newinformation,newtechnologies.Peoplecantalkwitheachotherfromanycorneroftheearthinamatterofseconds.Societyisbecomingmorecompetitive.tevenaffordtogotoelementaryschoolswhileenormoussumsofmoneyarebeingsquand

10、eredawayondinnerpartiesandlu*urycars.Webuyshoddymedicines,ormerelyworthlessjunkinthenameofmedicines,thataggravate,ratherthanalleviateourdiseasessincemoney,manypeoplebelieve,isthemostimportantthingintheworldthatmustbemade,evenatthee*penseofmoralityandresponsibility.Suchanera,therefore,determinesthatw

11、eareagenerationwithakeenersenseofcompetitionandefficiencyandagreaterreadinesstothinkcriticallyandactcreatively.Suchanera,furthermore,demands,thatweareagenerationwithaclearperceptionofourhistoricalresponsibilityandanaggressivewilltotakeactionandsolvetheproblems.Historyhaslongbeenpreparingthesequaliti

12、esinthisgenerationanditisnowcallingusforwardtogivetestimonytoourpatriotismandheroismtowardsthisnationandallhumanity.Standingherenow,Ithinkofthepast15yearsofmylifeasanordinarystudent.ProbablyIllbeanordinarymanfortherestofmylife.Butthisdoesntdiscouragemeany,forIknowthatwithmysenseofresponsibilityandde

13、votedeffortstoalwaysstrive,forthebest,itsgoingtobeameaningfulandworthwhilelifethatIwillbeliving.Standingherenow,Ithinkofthepast15yearsofthisnation,whichhasachievedgreatnessthatinspiredmillionsofpeopleofmyage,mostofwhomwillnotattainfameorprestigeandonlyafewofwhomwillberememberedbyposterity.Butthatdoe

14、sntdiscourageusany,becauseweknowthattheworldwatches,theworldlistens,theworldiswaitingtoseewherethisnationwillbeheadinginatimeofrichopportunitiesandfiercecompetition.Icanteverforgetthatlittlegirlinmyclasswhocouldnthadthesameopportunitiesasanyofusheretoenjoyawonderfullifetodayandahopefulworldtomorrow.Itisthesacredresponsibilityofthisgenerationtofaceuptothechallengesofthenewcenturyandtodevoteoursweatandblood,ourwisdomandpassion,tothehistoriccauseofmakingthisnationagreaterandhappierlandforeveryoneofus.Wearenotgoingtoevadethatresponsibility.Wearegoi
