1、 Unit 3 Food Story Time 教案Teaching ObjectivesMake sure students can read and understand the story in this period with the help of the pictures on the textbook.Students are able to act the scenes of the story out under the teachers guidance.Help the students grasp the moral standard that one has to g

2、et others consent if they want others to share things with them.Key and Difficult PointsSignificant words, expressions and sentence patterns( chicken, bread, fruit/ a big dinner, angry with/ He likes eating.)Help students sense how the functional sentences get used in the appropriate context after l

3、earning about the story.Teaching PreparationsPictures, cards, Multimedia.Teaching Period: 1Teaching ProceduresStep 1 Warm up T: Greetings. Ask them some questions (How are you today? Whats the weather like today? What day is it today? What did you have for breakfast today? What do you want for lunch

4、 today?)Ss: Greet the teacher and answer her questions one by one. T: Puts up the word cards “ bread, meat, ice cream, cake.” on the board to guide the class to review the vocabulary of this unit.Ss: Recognize the words on the cards as quickly as possible, and try to spell them out while the teacher

5、 covers the words below.Step 2 PresentationT:Guide the students to know the main characters of the story: “ Look! What animals are in the pictures? What is Harry doing? What does Harry like?”(draw a hippo, writes Harrys name on the left of the board and “He likes eating.” on the right.)Ss: Name the

6、animals of the story and observe the first picture carefully. Guess where Harry gets all those food and who do they actually belong to.T: Introduce the pictures one by one and write whose and what food Harry eats on the board while leading the students to point it out.Ss: Study the pics closely and

7、work with their partners to figure out how to express the actions of the animals in English ( The cats are playing balls/ The dog is sleeping/ The monkey wants his banana back.)T: Ask them how the animals feel about Harrys behavior( Are the animals happy? ) Write the phrase down after the students c

8、all it out.Ss: Say the lines in their own way( with angry facial expressions and gestures maybe.)T: Put forward more questions to inspire the students and elicit their independent thinking and moral reflections.( Why do the animals eat a big dinner in the tree? Can Harry join them? Do we like/welcom

9、e someone like Harry and why?)Ss: Think about the questions given by the teacher and discuss with their partners before volunteer to share their own answers in class.Step 3 PracticeT: Lead the students to watch the animated version of the story for two times, each time with a different purpose.Ss: W

10、atch the cartoon with keen attention at the first time and read after the recording at the second.T: Play the recording for the students to learn the pronunciation and intonation, and pause if necessary. Assess their reading in time( give star to the best group).Ss: Read the lines loud and clearly.

11、And each group gets to read different pictures. Try to give out their best performance and memorize their favorite lines subconsciously.Step 4 ConsolidationT: Explain the rules of the activity and select several volunteers to come to the front and do a role play of the story. Depending on the time left, there can be multiple rounds ( Try to engage as many students as possible).Ss: Raise their hands and ask for a chance to play their favorite roles. Act the story out in front of the whole class and say their lines without looking at the books. The rest of the class
