TextoftheEighteenthAmendmentSection1.Afteroneyearfromtheratificationofthisarticlethemanufacture,sale,ortransportationofintoxicatingliquorswithin,theimportationthereofinto,ortheexportationthereoffromtheUnitedStatesandallterritorysubjecttothejurisdictionthereofforbeveragepurposesisherebyprohibited.Section2.TheCongressandtheseveralStatesshallhaveconcurrentpowertoenforcethisarticlebyappropriatelegislation.Section3.ThisarticleshallbeinoperativeunlessitshallhavebeenratifiedasanamendmenttotheConstitutionbyconventionsintheseveralStates,asprovidedintheConstitution,withinsevenyearsfromthedateofthesubmissionhereoftotheStatesbytheCongressProhibitionintheU.S.
