istheobligationforabusinessto:maximizeitspositiveimpactminimizeitsnegativeimpactonsociety.

(企業(yè)的)社會(huì)責(zé)任是指企業(yè)必須承擔(dān)的責(zé)任,盡量擴(kuò)大其對(duì)社會(huì)的積極影響,減少對(duì)社會(huì)的負(fù)面影響。helptoimprovesocietyhelptosolvesocialproblemsThiscontrastswiththetraditionalroleinwhichcompaniesconsideredonlytheprofitsoftheirbusinessactivity.Topic1:ThesocialresponsibilityofbusinessAdvocates

ofsocialconcernbelievethatbusinessshouldtakeanactiveroleinimprovingsocietyandsolvingsocialproblems.Theybelievethatbusiness,byworkingtoimprovetheoverallsociety,canoftenimprovetheiroperationandprofitsinthelongrun.Inmanycases,acompanywillmakegreaterprofitsinthelongrunifitconsidersbenefitstosociety.ForexampleCustomeractuallyvoteforproductsandcompanieswhentheymakeapurchase.Ifaproductispricedfairly,satisfiestheirneedsandhasnonegativesideeffects,Iftheproductfailsorhasnegativesideeffects(負(fù)面的副作用),theywillprobablyselectanotherproductandmaybecomesoangryatthemanufacturerthattheyneverpurchaseanymore.Socialconcerncanalsobenefitshort-runprofits(短期利潤(rùn))

becauseofcurrentpublicexpectations.Becausethepublicnowexpectsbusinesstobenefitsociety,afirmthatmaintainsagoodrecordwillfinditeasiertohirebetteremployeesandwinmorecustomers.Althoughsocialresponsibilitymayseemanabstractidea,managersconsideritonadailybasisastheydealwithrealissues.Tobesuccessful,abusinessmustmonitorthechangesandneedsinsociety(密切注意社會(huì)的變化和需求)inordertobehaveinasociallyresponsibleway.Topic2:Whyactinasociallyresponsibleway?1.Societyprovidesconditionsforbusinessestoexist.-socialsettingincludinglaws,customs,etc.-othersocialandculturalnorms-professional/technicalpersonnel-laborItisonlyrightforbusinessestoservesociety’sgoals.2.Businessesareacomponentofsociety.Asoverallsocialconditionsimprove,allthecomponentsofsociety–includingbusinesses–willbenefit.3.Tobesociallyresponsiblealsobenefitsbusinesses.Customersshun(避開(kāi),回避)

sothatconsumerscanappealbeyondacompany(不限于只在一家公司投訴)

iftheyareunabletosolveaproblemwiththemanufacturerorproviderofaservice.SoSo,mostbusinessrealizethatonehighlydissatisfied,vocalcustomercanhaveawidespread,negativeimpactonitsimageorreputation.Therefore,mostbusinesstryveryhardtoreduceconsumers’dissatisfactionandresolvetheircomplaint.Topic3

BusinessEthicsEthicsareprinciplesofrightorgoodbehaviors.Theyinvolvemoralvaluesastowhatconductisproper.Businessethicsinvolveothermoralvaluesexistinginsociety.Manyofourmoraldecisionsare

borderline(不明確的,曖昧的).Somepeopleviewacertainpracticeasbeingunethical,whileothersthinkittobetotallyproper.Manyinfluences

insocietydeterminewhichbehaviorisethical.LawsCulturalattitudes;Professionalcodes;Individualvalues;Homeeducation;EthicsandbusinessethicsEthicsvs.LawWhilemanyethicalstandardsaredefinedbylaws,thelawdoesnotcoverallunethicalconduct.Abidingbythelawdefinesaminimumguideforethicalbehavior.People’sethicalcodeisinfluencedbylaws,culture,professionalcodes,andindividualvalues.

Manyethicalstandards

aredefinedbylaws,butthelawdoesnotcoverallunethicalconduct.Itmerelytriestopreventseriousviolations.Still,mostpeopleagreethatabidingbythelawdefinesaminimumguideforethicalbehavior.Valuesareacceptedstandardsofbehaviorwithinagivensociety.Allsocietiesdevelopbroad-basedvalues

thataregenerallyacceptedbymostofitsmembers.Communitiesofpeopleusuallysharethecommonviewsandthisaffectsthevaluesandconductofbusinessinlocalareas.Althoughwemayallgrowupinthesamesociety,thereisabroadrange

inthevaluesweadopt.Individualvaluesvary

withthebackgroundofhome/education/ages/works/places/religion/environment.Butsomepeoplethinkitisallrighttomisleadcustomersinordertogetasale.Othersmaychoosetolosethesaleratherthanmisreprensenttheproductinanyway.Whileindividualvaluesvary,mostpeopleagreethatitiswrongtolie,cheat,steal,andpurposelymisrepresent(歪曲,誤傳;誣告).BusinessethicsEthicalbusinessbehavior: -lawabiding -providingsatisfactoryproducts/services -offeringreasonableprices -offeringfairwagesandemployeebenefits -raisingfundforcharities -protectingtheenvironment
