?Inthefirsthalfof2023,globalrevenuepassenger-kilometers(RPKs)roseby47.2%comparedtothesameperiodlastyear.ThestrongrecoverytrendpersistedthroughJune,aspassengertrafficgrewby31.0%year-on-year(YoY),reaching94.2%ofpre-Covidlevels.
?Domestictrafficincreased27.2%YoYinJune,surpassingpre-pandemicRPKsby5.1%.Thisresultwasdrivenbytherobustperformanceofmajordomesticmarkets.
?Whiledifferentregionsexperiencedvaryingrecoverypatterns,totalinternationalRPKsgrew33.7%fromJune2022levels,maintainingthestrongrecoveryseenthisyear.Notably,AsiaPacificcarrierssustainedtheirgrowthmomentum,buoyedbytheregion’sresilientairtraveldemand.

Duringthefirsthalf(H1)of2023,allregionsachievedstrongpassengertrafficgrowthandmadesignificantprogresstowardsrestoringpre-pandemictrafficlevels.Althoughrecoverytrendsvariedacrossregions,industry-wideRPKsgrew47.2%YoYandwereonly9.7%below2019levels.

Thepassengerload-factor(PLF)reached84.2%globally,whichwasonly0.2pptsdownfromthe2019level.Mostregionshaveexperiencedstrongtrafficrecovery,withtheirPLFsapproachingtheirJuneall-timehighs.Europeancarriers,inparticular,achievedarecordloadfactorlevelof87.7%forthemonthofJune.AsiaPacificcarriersalsosawanoticeableimprovementintheirloadfactors,whichincreasedby7.1pptscomparedtoJune2022,reaching80.4%
