愚人節(jié)也稱也稱萬愚節(jié)。一種說法認為這一習俗源自印度的“詮俚節(jié)”。該節(jié)規(guī)定，每年三月三十一日的節(jié)日這天，不分男女老幼，可以互開玩笑、互相愚弄欺騙以換得娛樂。另一種較普遍的說法是起源于法國。1564年，法國首先采用新改革的紀年法——格里歷(即目前通用的陽歷)，以一月一日為一年的開端，改變了過去以四月一日作為新年開端的歷法。新歷法推行過程中，一些因循守舊的人反對這種改革仍沿襲舊歷，拒絕更新。他們依舊在四月一日這天互贈禮物，組織慶祝新年的活動。主張改革的人對這些守舊者的做法大加嘲弄。聰明滑稽的人在四月一日這天給頑固派贈送假禮物，邀請他們參加假慶祝會，并把這些受愚弄的人稱為“四月傻瓜”或“上鉤之魚”。所以每年四月一日，是西方的民間傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日——愚人節(jié)。最著名的玩笑(trick)——1957年4月1日英國BBC：多虧剛過去的溫和冬天有效的控制了面條樹蟲害，瑞士南部一戶農(nóng)家的意大利面條喜獲大豐收。畫面中，一名女子仔細的將意大利面條從樹上摘下來，把它們放到太陽下曬干。因為在當時，意大利面在英國還不常見。許多英國人并不知道意大利面條是用小麥粉做成的。上百通打到BBC，有人指出消息錯誤，有人疑惑不解，甚至有人詢問：怎么自己種意大利面條樹呢？BBC：意大利面條樹大豐收1998年4月1日，麻省理工學院（MIT）的主頁上發(fā)布了一則爆炸性的消息
