2、is is advice that I got from Tony Robb ins in his book Awake n the Giant Withi n . This is a book that I recomme nd( 推 薦)to anyone wan ti ng to develop a fire to make cha nges in their life. It helped me to un dersta nd how fear of maki ng poor choices was hin dering me from beco ming the great man
3、who I am today. Now I am not saying I am a well-known person in any particular circle. But I am the king of my castle work ing hard and trying to make good decisi ons in regard to the paths that I have chose n. I am a great man in the eyes of my wife and my childre n. And that is all the recog niti
4、on that I n eed in my lifetime. And I know that my past failures have been the building block that I continue to use to build my career and self-image in my community that I live in. Ben Lerer, cofounder of the CEO of Thrillist Media Group, is a good example of this. In an article on the Fast Compan
5、y website, Lerer talks about this very subject. He says, “ I ve had to make some really tough decisi ons but fin ally, I think the best compa nies are those that can recog nize whe n someth ing isn t going right, and fix it, in stead of just turning a bli nd eye because it s easier. ” Great people m
6、ake decisions. When a decision does not have the desired result, make a differe nt decisi on .It does not get any simpler tha n that. 1. 11、lize that what thought was your comfort zone is, in fact, your compliant zone where you ve learned to behave in ways that you were expected to behave, perhaps by your parents, or your extended family, and by dutifully fulfilling others expectations, you internalize these behaviors as your own, even
12、if they dont actually reflect who you are. How can you tell when your comfort zone may actually be your compliant zone? Pinpoint your area of focus. Identify one specific thing to question, whether it s something youre unhappy with or something you want to develop. Compare your passion s to the acti
13、vity youre examining. Can you see your own values and driving passions in this activity somewhere? If you can, it s probably not compliance or at least not completely. But if you struggle to find yourself anywhere, you may be in the compliant zone, and it might be time to reassess and consider wheth
14、er a change is in order. Our habits and routines are hard to break for a reason: they give us a feeling of stability and bring predictability( 可預(yù)測性的 ) to our lives. But avoiding new situations can hold you back. Stepping outside your comfort zone can help you build new skills and gain confidence. An
