1、Unit 5 Traveling abroad第一部分教學設計說明About the topic and the structures單元話題和結構本單元的中心話題是“出國旅游”,課文始終圍繞這一主題展開。具體涉及在國外學習、旅游等,語言知識和語言技能部分主要是圍繞“旅游”這一中心話題進行設計的。本單元語言功能項目是:喜歡/不喜歡;可能/不可能本單元語言結構項目是“復習非限制性定語從句”。本單元還要求學生學習寫作“私人信函:筆友信”。金色教案教學設計在單元課時劃分上與課本保持一致,即“閱讀課、知識課、運用課三課時/三課型劃分”。但在實際教學過程中,建議教師依據學生基礎、教學條件、學校安排的因素

2、,對課本、對金色教案教學設計重新劃分課時,裁剪、拼接使用提供的材料,以便“物盡所用”,達到最佳教學效果。教師也可以參照金色教案提供的“實際教學過程課時劃分建議”進行教學。Period 1Reading 閱讀課Warming Up 通過了解什么是留學,進行“熱身”活動。 留學,舊稱留洋,一般是指一個人去母國以外的國家接受各類教育,時間可以為短期或長期(從幾個星期到幾年)。這些人被稱為“留學生”。在中國大陸,學生把前往香港、澳門等地區(qū)的學習也稱為留學,這是由于這些地區(qū)有著不同的教育制度。 另外,美國等國家組織的一類海外短期的交換學生計劃,其英文名字“Study abroad”直譯也為留學,請參見海

3、外研修(中國大陸稱為海外交流)。 Pre-reading 討論留學的原因。留學的原因主要有下:開闊眼界和經驗 學習與該國有關的語言、文化知識;追求更好的教育條件;在從發(fā)展中國家到發(fā)達國家留學的學生中,這個原因最為常見;外交原因,政府之間為了表示親善合作,可能互派學生、官員或者軍人到對方學校學習;與移民有關的原因,例如:隨父母暫時居住在外國的未成年人;以留學生身份申請學生簽證,獲得暫時定居權;熟悉該國社會,積累經驗,為以后永久性定居做準備。 Pre-reading部分設計了兩個問題,第一個問題是開放性的,討論出國學生的優(yōu)點和缺點??梢宰寣W生展開思維,闡述自己的觀點,為正文的閱讀作好知識上和心理上

4、的鋪墊,第二個問題要求學生預測閱讀課文中的主人公在英國學習可能遇到的困難和英國學校學習與中國學校學習的不同。Reading部分介紹了主人公謝蕾第一次去國外求學進預科班時所面臨的問題,以及房東和導師對他的幫助,使她大膽正視困難,迎接挑戰(zhàn),最終樹立了信心。教師應當研究影響閱讀理解的內部因素,從閱讀方法、注意、記憶和思維等方面引導學生讀懂課文、活用課文。 Period 2Learning about language 知識課Learning about Language部分共有詞匯和語法兩部分,詞匯部分第一題要求學生用課文中的詞語填空。第二題要求學生學習和運用同根詞。語法部分是復習非限制性定語從句的

5、用法。語法教學應該抓住形式、意義和用法三個環(huán)節(jié),正確處理三者之間的關系。明確讓學生掌握語言形式是基礎、了解其意義是關鍵、學會使用才是真正的目的。Period 3Using language運用課Using Language部分共設計了“聽力”、“讀和說”和“寫”三大塊?!奥犃Α辈糠止灿兴念},而且由淺入深,層層深入。實際教學過程課時劃分建議Period 1將Warming Up、 Pre-reading、Reading和Comprehending整合在一起上一節(jié)“閱讀課”。Period 2將Learning about language 和Workbook中的 USING WORDS AND E

6、XPRESSIONS、USING STRUCTURES 整合在一起上一節(jié)“語言知識課”。Period 3將Using language 設計為一節(jié)包括聽說讀寫單項技能或組合技能訓練的“綜合技能課(一)”。Period 4將Workbook 的READING AND LISTENING和TALKING整合在一起上一節(jié)“聽說課”。Period 5將Workbook 的LISTENING TASK、READING AND WRITING TASK和 SPEAKING TASK整合為一節(jié)“綜合技能課(二)”。第二部分教學資源說明Section 1Background 背景圍繞單元話題“Festival

7、 around the world”,金色教案提供了幾則語言規(guī)范、短小精干的趣味性材料。這些材料既可以作為教師教學參考材料為教師所用,也可以直接或改寫、重組后作為課堂內外的拓展性閱讀材料呈現給學生。Section 2Explanation解析重點針對“閱讀課型”中的課文難句,金色教案不僅提供了詳盡的,就句論句的解析和翻譯,而且還以解析的焦點話題為線索,進行了一定的歸納、辨析和總結,以幫助教師更好地實施“語言形式”的教學。Section 3Vocabulary詞匯按照課本單元詞匯表順序,金色教案重點提供動詞、短語搭配的講解。所提供的例句,經典、地道、實用、易懂,完全可以直接用于教學。第三部分教學

Typically classes are taken while studying abroad award credits transferable to higher education institutions in the home country. However, students may pursue these opportunities at any age a

16、nd may not require college credit. Students studying abroad may live in a dormitory or apartment with other students or with a "host family", a group of people who live in that country and agree to provide student lodging. Topics of study can vary. Some students choose to study abroad in o

17、rder to learn a language from native speakers. Others may take classes in their academic major in a place that allows them to expand their hands-on experience (e.g. someone whos studying marine biology studying abroad in Jamaica or a student of sustainable development living and studying in a remote

18、 village in Senegal). Still other students may study abroad in order to explore topics within the framework of a different educational system (e.g. a student of English who goes to the United States to study American literature).2. It is as an opportunity for them to immerse themselves in a foreign culture and have experiences unattainable in their own country. As stated above, students may study abroad in an effort to expand their op

20、portunities beyond those their home university offers. Learning a language is one of the most common reasons for studying abroad. Another is the opportunity to travel and experience new places. Many students also choose to study abroad in hopes of enhancing their employment prospects. Study abroad i

21、s also a form of diplomacy, whereby students from different countries are able to interact, overcome and appreciate cultural differences and build relationships with people outside their native country. This is foreign relations on a personalized level and contributes to the current trend of globali
