1、Degrees of Comparison 比較狀語從句比較狀語從句是表示比較、比例、類比等的句子。其主要句子結(jié)構(gòu)如下: a. 主語 + 謂語 + as + 形容詞 / 副詞 + as + 被比對象 這個句型叫等比句結(jié)構(gòu),表示兩個人和事物在性質(zhì)、特征等方面相似或相等,即相等的比較。 被比對象可能是從句中的主語,也可能是賓語或其他成分。兩個as,作用不同,前一個as是副詞,在主句中說明所比較內(nèi)容的程度,后一個as是連詞,含有“比”、“如同”的意思,它所引導(dǎo)的從句通常是省略形式。 Physics is as important as mathematics (is).You seem to kno

12、.別人懷疑我們越多我們懷疑他們也越多這種句型常用省略句。The more, the better.The sooner, the worse.The smaller the mind, the greater the conceit.主句的主謂有時半倒裝,以保持句子的平衡。The more you read, the better will you write.The smaller the particles(分子) are, the more freely do they move.e. 類比句,表示兩類事物的相同或相似關(guān)系,通常用連詞或引導(dǎo)從句。其主要句型結(jié)構(gòu)有:1.A is to B what/as C is to D.Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.讀書對于思想,好比運動對于身體一樣.Manure is to crops as food is to man.肥料對于莊稼正如食物對于人們那樣重要。2.A does for B what C does for D.Leaves do for plants what lungs do for animals.葉子對植物的作用猶如肺對動物的作用。 3.A is that to B which C is to D.
