Arms 永別了, 武器 ?。?） v. 武裝 Soldiers should be armed well. 士兵應(yīng)該要很好的武裝。be armed with 用來(lái)武裝 The youth should be armed with knowledge. 年輕人應(yīng)該用知識(shí)武裝自己Grammar1. A new machine called The Revealer has been invented and it has

5、been used to detect gold which has been buried in the ground.（1）名詞 + called 表示“被稱之為的”，如the plane called a “Pilatus Porter” ，被稱為Pilatus Porter的飛機(jī)；2. The machine was used in a cave near the seashore where - it is said - pirates used to hide gold.（1）it is said是插入語(yǔ)，當(dāng)“據(jù)說”講。 （2）where = in which翻譯時(shí)譯為 “在那兒”

8、sure.如果幾個(gè)句子的主語(yǔ)是同一事物, 則可以把幾個(gè)句子合并為一個(gè)句子。保留一個(gè)句子做主句, 其他的變成非謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞。非謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞采用何種形式, 則根據(jù)其與主語(yǔ)的關(guān)系, 如果是主動(dòng)關(guān)系, 用-ing, 被動(dòng)關(guān)系, 則用動(dòng)詞的-ed形式The boy went home. The boy was crying. The boy was beaten. = Beaten by sb, the boy went home, crying.5. Very excited, the party dug a hole two feet deep.（1）Very excited形容詞短語(yǔ)做狀語(yǔ)，表主語(yǔ)的狀態(tài)，
