ImportingandEditinganOrphanMesh—PumpModelImportanorphanmeshfromaninputEditnodalDeleteInthisworkshopyouwillimportapumphousingmesh.Somemodificationsofitsgeometricfeaturesfollow.OrphanmeshFollowthestepsbelowtoimportthemeshofthepumphousingStartanewsessionofAbaqus/CAEfromtheFromthemain bar,selectFile→Import→Model.Fromthelistofavailablemodels,selectpump_ribs.inp.Abaqus/CAEtakesafewsecondstoimportthemodel.Anewmodeliscreated(namedpump_ribs).IntheModelTree,expandPUMP–1underneaththePartscontainer(asshowninFigureW3–1)anddouble-clickMeshtomakethispartcurrentandswitchtotheMeshmodule.FigureW3–1.PumpThepartmeshappearsasshowninFigureFigureW3–2.OrphanmeshofpumpEditingnodalYourfirsttaskwillbetochangetheinnerdiameteroftheholethatgoesthroughthetopofthepump.Thecoordinatesofthenodesalongtheinnerdiameterneedtobechanged. ethesenodeslieonacircularsurface,itwillbeadvantageoustodefineacylindricalcoordinatesystemandsimplychangetheradialcoordinateofthenodes.Followthestepsbelowtoachievethistask.OpentheViewstoolbar,andselecttheX–Yview.TurnofftheviewbyclickingtheTurn Offtool(),andzoomintothecomponentsothattheholeisclearlyvisible(seeFigureW3–3).Tip:IftheViewstoolbarisnotvisible,selectView→Toolbars→Viewsfromthe FigureW3–3.TopviewofpumpFromthemain bar,selectTools→Datum.TheCreateDatumdialogboxappears(seeFigureW3–4).SelectCSYSasthedatumtype.Selectthe3pointsmethod.Whenpromptedforthetypeofcoordinatesystem,chooseCylindrical.cethecoordinatesystemattheorigin(0.0,0.0,0.0)andclickCreateDatum.Acylindricaldatumcoordinatesystemiscreated.Theoriginofthecoordinatesystemcoideswiththepositionofthecenterofthehole.FigureW3–4.CreateDatumdialogYouwillnowmodifytheinnerdiameterofthehole.Fromthemain baroftheMeshmodule,selectMesh→Edit.IntheEditMeshdialogbox,selectNodeasthecategoryandEditasthemethod,asshowninFigureW3–5.FigureW3–5.EditMeshdialogToggleofftheselectionentitiesclosesttothescreen SelectentitiesinsidetheCirculardragshape dragshapeFigureW3–6.SelectionThenodescanbeselectedinoneoftwoTryselectingthenodesindividually(thedefaultselectiontechnique)usingtheselectionfiltersettingsindicatedinFigureW3–6.Thecenterofthedragshapeshouldbethecenterofthecylindricalcoordinatesystemdefinedearlier(seestep2).Selectaperimeterpointforthedragshapesuchthatyou allthenodesontheinsidesurfaceofthehole.Theselectednodeswillbehighlightedinredaftertheselection,asshowninFigureW3–7.YoumaywishtorotateyourmodeltocheckwhetherallthenodeshavebeenselectedYoumayalsoselectthenodesusingthefaceanglemethod(i.e.,byspecifyingtheumdeviationintheanglweenadjacenementfaces).Thistechniqueisgenerallymoreefficientthanselectingthenodesindividually:allnodesthatpertaintotheelementfacesthatsatisfythefaceanglecriterionareautomaticallyselected.Inthepromptarea,choosebyfaceangleasthemethodbywhichthenodeswillbeselected.Then,clickonanyelementfacelocatedontheinnersurfaceofthehole.Thenodesontheinnersurfacearehighlightedinredaftertheselection.Asbefore,rotateyourmodeltomakesureallthenodeshavebeenselectedproperly.Onceyouaresatisfiedwiththeselection(usingeithermethod),clickDoneinthepromptarea.FigureW3–7.ModifiedTheEditNodesdialogboxappears,asshowninFigureW3–8.Thisdialogboxwillbeusedtochangethediameterofthehole.ClickSelectintheupperrightcornerofthedialogbox,andchoosethecylindricalcoordinatesystemdefinedinstep2byclickingonitintheviewportwhenpromptedtochoosealocalcoordinatesystem.UsingtheCoordinatesspecificationmethod,changethe1–coordinate(i.e.,theradialcoordinate)byselectingSpecifyfromthepulldownlistandentering0.6.ClickOKtoclosethedialogboxandthenDoneinthepromptareatocompletetheoperation.FigureW3–8.EditNodesdialogDeletingYouwillnowremovetheribsonthepumphousing.Beginbyremovingsomeoftheelementsintheriblocatednearthefrontofthehousing,asshowninFigureW3–9.UsetheX–ZviewfromtheViewstoolbarandrotatethepumptoviewoneofthefrontribs,asshowninFigureW3–9.FigureW3–9.RibIntheEditMeshdialogbox,selec ementasthecategoryandDeleteastheWhenpromptedtoselecttheelementstobedeleted,usetheSelectiontoolbartochangethedragshapetoaPolygon.Selectsomeoftheelementslocatednearthe90bendoftherib,asshowninFigureW3–9.Inthepromptarea,toggleonDeleteassociatedunreferencedZoomoutandrotatetheviewtoconfirmthatonlyelementspertainingtotheribshavebeenselected.Ifanyotherelementsarehighlighted,deselectthemusing[Control]+Click.WhenyouaresatisfiedwiththeselectionclickD odeletetheelementsandtheirassociatednodes.Tip:IfyouforgottotoggleonDeleteassociatedunreferencednodes,simplyclickUn ntheEditMeshdialogboxandrepeattheprocedureTheremainingribsonthepumphousingcanberemovedbycarefullyselectingtheminasimilarfashion.Thiscanbeatediousandtime-consumingprocessforlarge,complicatedmodels.Tofacilitatesuchtasks,theelementstobedeletedmayalsobeselectedusingsets.NotethatdeletingthesetitselffromtheModelTreedoesnotdeletetheelements(itonlydeletesthesetdefinition).Todeletetheelementsbasedonsets:Inthepromptarea,clickSetstoopentheRegionSelectiondialogIntheRegionSelectiondialogbox,selectthesetRIBSandtoggleonHighlightselectionsinviewporttohighlighttheelementsbelongingtothisset.ClickContinuetodeletetheremainingribClickDismisstoclosetheRegionSelectiondialogbox.ThepumphousingwithouttheribsisshowninFigureW3–10.Savethemodeldatabase.NamethemodeldatabasefileFigureW3–10.Pumphousingwithout孤立網(wǎng)格導(dǎo)入按照以下步驟導(dǎo)入泵殼模型的網(wǎng)格。從
