Purpose:tohelpstudentsintalkaboutwhattheythinkisdifficultaboutlearningEnglish

BrainstormaspectsoflearningEnglishwithyourstudents.Youmayhavethemglancethroughthestudentbookforideas,forexample,vocabulary,pronunciation,reading,listening,speaking.Askamoreproficientstudent“Whichoftheseisdifficultforyou?”

Elicitanappropriateresponse.Askthatstudent,“Whatdoyoudotohelpwiththat?”Elicitanappropriateresponse.Youmayskipthisstepifyoufeelstudentsarereadytodotheexercise.

DirectstudentstotheExample,andreaditaloudorhaveastudentreadit.Thenhavestudentsgetintopairsorsmallgroups.Ask“WhatdoyouthinkisdifficultaboutlearningEnglish?WhatdoyoudotoimproveyourEnglish?Discusswithyourpartner/groupmembers”
