Scientistsnowbelievethatamphibiandeclineisduetoseveral

farmingareas,theheavyuseofchemicalsoncropshasalsokilledoffamphibians.
Anotherfactoristhatairpollutionhasledtoincreasedlevelsofultraviolet
(UV)light.Thisendangersamphibians,whichseemtobeespeciallysensitive
toUVlight.Andfinally,scientistshavediscoveredanewdiseasethatseems
tobekillingmanyspeciesofamphibiansindifferentpartsoftheworld.
Allthesereasonsforthedisappearanceofamphibiansarealsogoodreasons
formoregeneralconcern.Thedestructionofland,thepollutionoftheair
andthewater,thechangesinouratmosphere,thespreadofdiseases-these
factorsaffecthumanbeings,too.Amphibiansareespeciallysensitiveto
