Startthelessonbyshowingthestudentsapictureofahauntedhouseoradarkroom.Askthemwhattheythinkishappeninginthepictureandelicitresponsestogeneratediscussion.
Writethequestionontheboard:“Whatdoyouthinkcanhappeninamysteriousorhauntedplace”
Allowstudentstosharetheirideasandencouragethemtousespecificvocabularyrelatedtomysterioussituations.
Pre-readingactivity:
Introducenewvocabularywordsrelatedtotheunit,suchas“creepy,”“suspicious,”“eerie,”“startled,”etc.
