I.Workobjectivesandplanning

1.0Workobjectives:

Theprimaryobjectiveofthisworkplanistoimprovethe

qualityofEnglishinstructionamonghighschoolstudentsandto

enhancetheirEnglishproficiencyinlinewiththenational

standards.Thegoalsofthisworkplanare:

1)TodesignanddeliverEnglishinstructionthatisengaging,

relevant,andmeetstheneedsofdiverselearningstyles;

2)Toimprovestudentoutcomesonstandardized

assessmentsofEnglishproficiency;

3)Toincreasethenumberofstudentsenrollingincourses

usingEnglishasthemediumofinstruction.

2.0Workplanning:

Toachievethesegoals,theteachershalldevelopaseriesof

lessonunitscontainingappropriateactivities,assessments,and

rubricsthatdefinetheexpectationsforstudentperformance.

II.Worktasksandschedule

1.0Worktasks:

Theworktasksare:

1)PreparecoursesyllabusandmaterialsforEnglishclasses;

2)Developlessonplansandunitstoensurestudents'skillsin

reading,writing,speakingandlistening;

3)Administerformativeandsummativeassessments,and

providefeedbacktostudents;

4)Provideadditionalinterventionsandaccommodations

wherenecessary;

5)Developandmaintainrelationshipswithstudentsand

theirparentstosupporttheirgrowthanddevelopment.

2.0Workschedule:

Theteachershallfollowaweeklyscheduleasfollows:

Monday:LessonDevelopment/Preparation

Tuesday:Lecture/LessonImplementation

Wednesday:ClassObservationandFeedback

Thursday:LessonImprovementandRecordKeeping

Friday:CoursePlanReview,ParentMeeting,andProfessional

Developmentmeetings.

III.Resourceallocationandbudgetplan

1.0Resourceallocation:

Toexecutetheworkplan,theteachershallrequirephysical,

financial,andhumanresources.Thephysicalresourcesare

teachingmaterials,technology(iPads,computers,andprojectors),

andclassroomfurniture.Thefinancialresourcesshallbeallocated

forpurchasingclassroomsupplies,instructionaltools,andspecial

equipment.

2.0Budgetplan:

Thebudgetplanwillincludetheexpensesassociatedwith

purchasingclassroomsupplies,instructionaltools,andspecial

equipmentovertheacademicyear.

IV.Projectriskassessmentandmanagement

1.0Risks:

Therisksinherentinimplementingthisworkplanare:

1)Insufficientresourcesandbudgets;

2)Studentdisruption,behaviorissueswithinclass;

3)Timeconstraintsandoverload;

4)Insufficientengagementwithsomestudentneeds.

2.0Riskmanagement:

Tomitigatetheserisks,theteachershallprioritizethegoals

andobjectivessetforthintheworkplanandrespondproactively

toanyissuesthatarise.

V.Workperformancemanagement

1.0Performancegoals:

Performancegoalswillbedeterminedbyastandard

measurementthatwillbeadministeredatthebeginningandend

oftheacademicyear.Theperformancegoalsshallincludethe

percentageofstudentsscoringatoraboveapredetermined

proficiencystandardonstandardizedassessments,aswellasan

assessmentofstudentengagementandparticipationinclass.

2.0Performancemanagement:

Theteachershallengagewiththeircolleagues,attend

professionaldevelopment,andseekoutfeedbackfromstudents,

colleagues,andadministratorstomonitortheirperformance.

VI.Communicationandcoordination

1.0Communication:

Effectivecommunicationisessentialinensuringteacher

effectiveness.Theteachershall:

1)Maintainactivepartnershipswithstudents,peers,and

guardians;

2)Requestregularfeedbackandparticipateinprofessional

developmentmeetings.

2.0Coordination:

Theteachershallmeetwithcolleaguesandadministratorsto

coordinateschoolactivitiesthatarerelevanttotheworkplan.

VII.Worksummaryandreflection

1.0Worksummary:

Attheendoftheacademicyear,theteachershallreviewthe

achievements,failures,andareasforimprovement.

2.0Workreflection:

Theteachershallwriteareportontheirreflectionsandseek

feedbackfromcolleaguestoimprovetheirteachingabilities.
