studentstolearnnounclauses.Meanwhile,inthetextbook,therehas

alreadybeenthedetailsofthechanging.Sointhislesson,Ineedto

presentmoreexamplestohelpstudentstounderstandthedetailsmore

deeply.

Mystudentsareinthefirstyearofseniorhighschool.Having

learnedEnglishforsevenyears,studentshaveabasicknowledgeof

Englishexpression.Buttheyneedtolearnmoreaccurateexpression,

familymemberstoothersproperly.Afterwatchingthevideo,Iwillask

studentswhyotherslaughatXiaoMingandIamsurestudentswillbe

curiousabouthowtoreportothers*words.Today,stopichowto

changedirectspeechintoreportedspeechwillbeleadednaturally.

Meanwhile,students'interestwillbearousedandaniceatmosphere

willbecreatedforthislesson.

Step2Presentation

Inthisstep,Iwillaskstudentstowatchseveraladvertisements.In

everyvideosthereisapersontotalkaboutthemeritsofhisorher

products.ThenIwilllistseveralsentencesonthePPT.Forexample:

1.Thegirlsaidthatshewaspraisedbyherboyfriend.

2.Theboyintroducethatthelittleguyscanbefoundwhereverthey

are.

3.Alotofmumsencourageotherstouseittoprotectbabiesskin.

Andaskstudentstochoosewhichadvertisementitrefersto.By

readingthesentences,studentscaneasilygettheanswerandchoose

therightpictures.ThenIwillshowtheoriginalsentences,thatis,the

directspeechoftheadvertisementandthelistedsentencesbefore

together.Askstudentstoobservethesentencesandtrytothinkabout

whatisthedirectspeechandreportedspeechandhowtochangedirect

speechintoreportedspeech.Studentscandiscussitwiththeirpartners

andpresenttheiranswers.Bydiscussing,thewholeclasscanfinally

drawtheconclusionthat:wecanchangedirectspeechintoreported

speechbyusinganobjectclauseoraninfinitivephrase.

presentingseveralreportedspeechchosenfromtheadvertisementsand

includingstatements,questionsandimperativestatements.By

observingandexplaining,studentscanunderstandthreebasicrulesof

reportedspeech:

1.Nounclausesintroducedbythatcanbeusedtoreportstatements.

Thewordthatcanbeomitted.

2.Nounclausesintroducedbywhether/ifcanbeusedtoreport

yes/noquestions.

3.Structure:reportingverb+object+(not)+toinfinitivecanbeusedto

reportimperativesentences.

Afterstudentslearnsomebasicformsofreportedspeech,Iwillshow

somesentencesusingdirectspeechandaskstudentstotrytochange

themintoreportedspeech.Afterallthestudentsfinishit,Iwill

underlinethepersonalpronouns,tense,timeandplace,pronounin

thesesentencesandaskstudentstochecktheirdeskmates'sentences

againandpayattentiontotheunderlineparts.

Afterstudentschecking,Iwillpresentthesentencesstudentsmade

andaskthemtoconcludetheimportantpointsofchangingadirect

speechintoreportedspeechfromthefollowingaspects:personal

pronouns,tense,timeandplace,pronounandotherspecialcases.

Advertisementisthetopicofthisunit.Afterlearningthereading

part,studentshasalreadybeenfamiliarwiththetopic,soIusethe

advertisementtoleadindifferentsentencesusingdirectspeechand
