1、介詞+which / whom引導的定語從句當關系代詞在定語從句中作介詞的賓語時，可用介詞+which / whom引導定語從句。但不能用that或whom。且介詞后面的關系代詞不能省略。(動賓可省，介賓不可省)在非正式英語中，介詞可放在從句末尾，此時可用關系代詞that, whom, who, which，且關系代詞可省略。當先行詞是way（方式，方法）時，常用in which或that引導從句，有時可以省略。介詞的選用要根據動詞詞組或上下文。e.g. The place to which I often pay a visit was built in the 17th century.

2、Last night I had a dream in which I became a Nobel Prize winner.在某些關系緊密的固定短語中，介詞一般不能提前，如: pay attention to，listen to, look at, look after, take care of, look for, depend on. (注意，聽，看，尋找，依賴) e.g. Is this the book which you are looking for? 關系副詞when, where, why引導的定語從句when（在那時）指時間，在從句中作時間狀語，相當于in (on, a

3、t, from)+時間名詞或表時間的副詞，其先行詞常為time, moment, day, season, year等表示時間的名詞。e.g. The time when we got together finally came. *在time作先行詞表示“次數”時，如果被序數詞(第幾次）或the last(最后一次)修飾時，只能用that引導。E.g. This is the last time that I shall go there with you. The first time that I saw you was last month.where（在那里）指地點，在從句中作地點狀

4、語，相當于in ( on, at, from)+地點名詞或表地點的副詞there, here等。其先行詞常為place, house, city, country, world等表示地點的名詞。E.g. Changsha is the city where I was born. why（為什么）指原因，在從句中作原因狀語。其先行詞是reason. E.g. I dont know the reason why he looks unhappy today. 4. 在正式場合，介詞+ which可代替when, where, why。E.g. I will remember the days
